Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Virtual WFH Worker

Time between calls (not normal)
Was told call volume down 20% (lie)
Dozens of missing colleagues
No new hire classes in 3+ months (with high turnover)
Distracted manager
COBC warnings/reminders for every thing under the sun

Fair to say there’s a layoff coming for MSS?

All MSS virtual call center reps are CWA, they cover a range of contracts by region (Black, Purple, Orange...). Reps cannot relocate out of their contract area (contract violation, VPN is monitored to comply with contract). When CCs and COR stores are closed, rep are given first choice to work Virtual. Most all team managers (L1), AMs (L2) and Directors (L3) are virtual also. Reps working in physical call centers had the choice to apply for a Virtual Rep position (a permanent at home position) when COVID started, or just WFH temporarily. Labor and CWA agreed when the return to office was for the temporary CC workers who did not transfer to the new Virtual Rep positions. FACTS!

I’m not talking about the wfh employees. I’m talking about the “virtual offices” the company opened in 2021 that’s 100% virtual. There are 5 states that they were opened in. Those states were strategically picked so that there is no union in the “virtual” offices. I absolutely know what I’m talking about because I know managers that manage those offices. They said they good pick their team and if they don’t produce then they can let them go, there is no union.

The WFH employees are all Union to the fool that doesn't know what he/she is talking about. Purple contract.

Congratulations! Just fyi you were hired to replace the office call center employees with 20+ years now it’s happening to you. How does it feel to be on the other end? You get No sympathy from me. All those “virtual” call center in 5 states are non union for a reason. So they can get rid of you easily. You don’t meet numbers , bye! You don’t meet attendance, bye! They are opening up call centers everywhere. One is happening right now In Africa! Good luck!

Run! At&t is an unethical sh-t show of a company with comical management. Not unlike most companies in the industry these days.

Don't listen to these management slappies. They're hiring still at US Call Centers. People posting in here have hurt feelings from having to clean up and head into the office a few times a week.

The only reason any call center work is still in the US is to score points with politicians. Under the current regime most of that is out the window.

One day you will log in and there will be no calls and you will be laid off. Right now what you are seeing is the slow transitioning of calls to India or wherever. Every single US-based call center job is a dead job at this point. All these jobs have been moving to cheaper labor for over 25 years now but eventually, AI will replace 90-95% of all call center jobs in the end. The only reason it has probably taken AT&T so long to make the switch is the unions but they can’t even stop it now.

New to this forum. Also, etime available but no PTO time available? Sure you can take etime, but you can’t use a vacation day.
