Layoff the poor managers, team leads and supervisors who should be doing their jobs

There is no accountability anymore and these managers, team leads and supervisors are to blame. They don't take the low performers to task, nor do they make sure staff is ready and able to address their work loads. Staff who is either in the game room, taking their 100th, coffee or anxiety brake. I work in a department where people come and go as they please, while the manager looks the other way. When mentioned this a Team Lead, they shrugged their shoulder and said, it's easier to help them transfer or wait until there are cuts than working on getting them out. If these people just did their jobs you would need less staff and probably better staff

The Bank knows people don't won't work 8 hours per day, and studies show people work less than 75% of the day. That is baked it in. It is those that go above and beyond taking their time to do less than what is accepted. Watching Netflix, YouTube or TicTok is common place during the day. The question is not, is it fare to the employer. The QUESTION IS, IS IT FARE TO OTHER EMPLOYEES!

They Literally promoted the guy on social media every day strategically tapping through screens in the system so it would look like he was working. No joke, he literally looked down at his phone surfing social media almost all day and would brag about how he flipped screens. Then when he was promoted he was no hypocrite and let his buddies he managed continue to do the same.

Have also seen managers over react too and give PIPS to people with health problems who didn’t proactively get FMLA thinking it would resolve, hard workers too, while the person next to them gets paid to stare at Netflix and have someone on the phone with them for hours while working, but hey they had good attendance and got a meets

Jacked up sometimes. Lots of small breaks actually improve productivity though, so if not pushing limits can sometimes be a good thing.

At the end of the day, the top level executives only care about how they get through the year to get their increase in salary and bonus. Sure, they give the pep talk to do better and work harder and smarter, but do they truly care. Would they push the team if they weren't getting a bonus and salary increase? If the top levels don't really care, then why should managers, team leads, etc. Besides, when it comes to laying off employees, do they really care how hard you work or if you worked over the weekend to make the deadline. Nope. Cost savings has nothing to do with your own or your teams performance. At the end of the day, it's a contract between you and the company. You have a job for the day, do that job for that day, and who knows what will happen tomorrow. No point stressing yourself out and having health issues and then not have a job with health care insurance.

I don't know, maybe it shouldn't be an expectation that everyone works for a full 8 hrs nonstop, it might be normal for humans to need breaks here and there and if they can take them and still get their work done then it shouldn't be a concern? Sounds farfetched I know...the expectation surely can't be 8 hrs in front of computer with at least x amount of key strokes.

There's a limit on both sides, watching a full movie at work is probably too much but I wouldn't be getting on people's case for taking a 20 min break. Were you a hall monitor back in grade school by any chance?

Observe people when they come in after their working from days. They come in, go to the brake room, cafeteria, or Starbucks for coffee or breakfast and don't get back to their desk for 30 to 35 minutes. They then proceed to catch up with colleagues on what they have been up to or complain about: coming in, their workload or their boss. Another 10 to 20 minutes lost. If their boss is working from home that day, they sign on, put on their headsets and takeout their phones to follow interests on Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok or YouTube. I have seen a guy watch a movie on Netflix! You can say I am harsh, but I just watch what's going on, and forbid you say something to management, YOU BECOME THE target and bad one.
