Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

LAYOFFS BY LEVEL SURVEY!

So, if level 1-2 layoffs have been x% of level 1-2 employee headcount index that value at 1.00. What have been layoffs relative to headcount for levels 3,4 and 5 plus.

Lets try and have serious replies only. If anyone has any inside information or believable rumor mill stuff on this topic that would be really great as well.

I'll take a stab at it - I may be overly cynical but this is what I've seen in the past (remember values are relative to size of headcount for that level and not relative to total number of layoffs for L1-2).

Level 1-2 1.00
Level 3 .05 (20:1 ratio)
Level 4 .02 (50:1 ratio)
Level 5+ null set (zippo)

My view is that management headcount has become even more top heavy as a result of JS, not less. Layoffs have not even been close to proportional to level headcount. Maybe nothing to be done but might be of interest.

“ T needs to cut 50K-60K heads now”

Then they should start with the most costly levels…3, 4, 5, etc. Start with the (grossly) overpaid.

This is by design.

It makes sense to layoff the 1st and second levels because that’s where the majority of the headcount is.

L3 and above support orgs so you can’t just lay them off without thinking their reports.

Duh!

Now that the majority of L1 and L2 layoffs are scheduled through 2025 with wave 3, they can now begin to chop away at L3’s and L4’s by reorganizing.

Who cares? Level 1 all the way to the CEO’s office are just useless , whining mouth breathers anyway good riddance, McDonald’s is always hiring, you will have much better benefits.

This is why level 3’s like to keep every person even when they have no work.

I think you were just getting too spreadsheet happy.

I don’t think anyone who knows would post and if someone posts I’m not sure I’d trust the data.

Get real, T needs to cut 50K-60K heads now. They have been nickle and diming the process. Time to get serious, the headcount should be at 80K.
