Just got an email this morning telling me to report to the local hub. Told we're going to do a day of retraining to "catch us back up". They're giving us 100% commission relief for the month and $1500 a week on top of our salary. But we're being forced to work 13 days straight from 7am to 7pm.
I'm in okay shape personally and can still do this if I go slow. But half these people are 60+, many are way out of shape and some definitely can't climb the ladders anymore seeing as they're 300+ lbs. It's still 90+ degrees every day this week, AT&T is going to end up ki-ling people by doing this sh-t. We don't even have a choice either, it's either do this or be terminated. None of us were ever contacted by the the contingency planning team prior to today either, and no one even knew this was something that could possibly happen. I'm in IHX myself, but some of these guys are from the business team and haven't done tech work in 5+ years.
Is anyone else getting these orders too? Anyone unionized having to do this?
