RTO rollbacks coming 1Q 2025. It’s not working, and leadership recognizes it. Heard this week further office consolidation will happen and re-consideration of occupancy indicators coming.

Lmao this thread slaps
bullcr-p. That ain’t no l3. Wannabe lvl 1
Ok "L3 RAN". Better use those technical chops to get FIM setup. Don't want Jeremy on your 7th wireless outage call again
HR getting triggered in here.
Watch out, gonna file a complaint and make you take some office etiquette training.
better get back to work L3 RAN. You've got a lot of outages under your belt. When do you think you'll get around to doing better? Jason Press wants to know.
If you have the technical chops to hack it in RAN, be my guest.
Look up a level 3 Member of Technical Staff, quite a lot of requirements there but go for it man.
An L3 that doesn't manage or lead anything? Not surprised. Another one of those rotted org lines they'll sweep out I guess. Make way, I'm coming for your job. :)
Im an L3 MTS, I don’t track my time, but I haven’t seen an AD that does much of anything, so…
I’m sorry your job has become nothing more than a hall monitor tracking attendances, feels bad man.
"Get back to work 1a"
smoked em! lol
"You’re obviously HR"
I said I was an AD in my post and that my Director is denying the expiration cycle of the JA's. You can't read, I'm not sure how you are able to develop anything. I'm glad your responsibility scope is small, you couldn't manage a goldfish. I'm technical, and design, and regulate, and audit, and push paper and wipe your behind when you are sad that you got passed over for that promotion you didn't deserve and fix your timecard when you are too st4pid to track 40 hours per week. Get back to work 1a, you've got 4 hours left in your day today.
Figures HR would be simping for RTO.
Their whole job revolves around being compliant good little worker bees, not creative, don’t think out of the box, low pay, good subordinates.
Probably lots of simping for the company on LinkedIn, lots of “way to go on your business trip Stankey, way to push the envelope” bull sh-t posts…must be an absolutely miserable existence.
Must su-k to go through your whole career knowing all you’ve ever done is enforce someone else’s vision instead of ever making a thing yourself that actually brings value.
They’re like thought police who answer to millionaires and billionaires without ever actually having an original thought themselves or pushing back against authority.
Literally the worst kind of humans.
No I haven’t managed a JA. I looked up the details.
If you can just ignore them go for it, says it can open you up for suit but sure.
You’re obviously HR, so I mean…no I don’t sit around and spend 8 hours paper pushing, I’m technical and write software and actually make things…I delegate d-mb sh-t like filling out bs T paperwork.
"I already know you’re lying but I've never managed a JA before and no clue how it works so I have no rebuttal"
oh ok. no problem. I understand
"Employers are required BY LAW"
Post the reference to the law here. HR doesn't have to provide a thing. It is the supervisor that approves or rejects and leadership is telling supervisors to reject them on the next expiration cycles.
For job accommodations - my Director told me I could not approve the next round of JA renewals or my performance ratings would be marked for insubordination. JA's are completely dependent upon the AD approving. HR only provides recommendations and will not approve or override JA's. I'm lying? You don't understand the behind-the-scenes manipulations that are taking place. You think that things are still being done fairly and according to company policy? You are missing the giant loopholes that mid and high level leadership have carved out for themselves.
I'm not lying. You are just very naive.
Well, I already know you’re lying because they can’t legally ignore job accommodations.
Employers are required BY LAW to abide by job accommodations UNLESS they cause undue hardship but that can be fought via legal action and will result in a lawsuit.
You can’t just say “yeah nah I’m not following your accommodation anymore” it’s significantly more complicated than that.
It depends on your job function, as well as other factors including the diagnosed disability.
If they approved it once, they also can’t come back and say “lol denied now cause rofl” there’s a process.
hilarious that no one has picked up on the spelling differences of waive versus wave. What happened to your english 101 training?
I'm not wrong. all waived situations or exceptions are suspended. remote work and job accommodations waivers will be suspended too. all company waiving is now an endangered animal. you WILL need to be at your office of designation and you WILL need to badge in there 3 or more days per week. Subject to review at the leadership level - whether or not time in the office enforced (trends are being evaluated now). Severence policies are being reviewed. Bonus policies are being reviewed.
The company traditions and culture as you know it are all on the table for review. Don't cry when it shifts fast.
" Will it ever be canceled, we don’t know."
But, we do know.
We know 100% for certain that you are never, ever, going to see an official communication stating that "RTO is cancelled". Never in a million years is that going to happen.
“ Lies. ACS is getting rid of EVERYONE not in the 2 main hubs.
Bedminster, Bothell, St Louis, San Ramon - all gone.”
Well, except for that one VP in St. Louis. Hypocrite.
The only hope we actually have is that RTO is somehow being forced by the federal government to keep the commercial real estate bubble from popping and the election goes the other way and the policy is halted by the incoming administration. It is a crazy theory, but frankly crazy is all that makes sense to justify the stupidity at this point.
Nice try Dude. Even that so called leaders of T see RTO as failure, nobody will be brave enough to reverse it or tell Stankey this was stupid idea. They are all bunch of ‘yes man’ and will continue supporting it. Stankey on the other hand had so many failures that this fiasco is not going to affect his sleep or his compensation.
ALL WAIVES ARE SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
Wishful thinking. RTO it’s layoff in disguise. Some people left and forfeit their rights to severance, others lied that they will move and will also lose severance. This is evil T plan to avoid payments. Of course on top of RTO they are laying off people in the hubs. Also budget for 2025 is lowered by 20%. Stankey started comparing T to T Mobile and Verizon and realized we are overstaffed. He should first compare himself to T Mobile CEO and lay himself off. That would save T.
OMG!
ALL WAIVES ARE SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
Some hardcore pipe dreaming going on here. Those insidious Machiavellians aren’t rolling anything back; in fact, they’ll surely crank up the “heat” even further!
Lies. ACS is getting rid of EVERYONE not in the 2 main hubs.
Bedminster, Bothell, St Louis, San Ramon - all gone.
No one is reconsidering anything. Wishful thinking.
Leadership? What "leadership"?
T doesn't have that.
“This is patently false. People were issued RTO notices this week and have until April to relocate or if they decline they are off payroll on 12/6.”
Wave 3 or 2?
This is patently false. People were issued RTO notices this week and have until April to relocate or if they decline they are off payroll on 12/6.
“I got my wave three (ATS) letter at the start of August, my boss said more are going out next week.”
Haven’t gotten mine.
Asked last week and was told 2025.
Shrug.
“ The idea that they would ditch RTO mandates at this juncture is pure fantasy. The fact they have implemented occupancy indicators and are now tracking badge in/out would be proof enough. The RTO mandates will continue, unabated.”
I have seen no evidence of automated time tracking being enforced or working and have only heard that without a badge out reader it’s basically impossible.
I stand to be corrected, but until I hear about enforcement or get in trouble myself, I’m not buying it.
That being said, I think it is equally unlikely they’re going to roll things back at this juncture either. I find it much more likely that certain orgs just won’t enforce wave 3 and will keep people on indefinitely and after some time it will never be mentioned.
The C-suite never admits wrong doing. It’s like their #1 rule.
"The latest news I heard was wave 3 for Ward/ATS will be sometime in 2025."
I got my wave three (ATS) letter at the start of August, my boss said more are going out next week.
woo hoo!
The idea that they would ditch RTO mandates at this juncture is pure fantasy. The fact they have implemented occupancy indicators and are now tracking badge in/out would be proof enough.
The RTO mandates will continue, unabated.
"In CTX town hall on Weds they announced that wave 3 letters were targeted to be sent out by end of September.
Also it looks like the newly updated presence report has the details how many days you badged in assigned location, even though it's not mentioned in the FAQ.
So unfortunately, these updates seem like RTO is still moving forward"
Exactly. And now they're going to monitor how long we've been on the network too.
I wish they'd roll back RTO as well, but it just doesn't look like that's going to happen.
which orgs? or is company wide??
happy to save on gas!
Stop playing along with these re--rds!
You know RTO has not been canceled.
Will it ever be canceled, we don’t know.
What we do know is if it was canceled the entire company would be talking about it, not just the 23 people posting here.
I love how the biggest hinderance to people believing this is real is simply the unbelievable fact that Stankey would effectively be admitting he’s wrong and that’s just a bridge too far for most.
Actually hilarious.
Things that will never happen:
Pigs flying
Stankey admitting he’s wrong
🤣
The big RTO push has been Stankey's initiative, I can't see him ever 'admitting failure' (about anything). This seems like wishful thinking.
