Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Will there be another surplus declared in 2025?

Rumor went the union / company would offer an EIPP every year till end of contract Aug 2026 so hopefully we have one next year because doesn’t the company have to hire hundreds more ?

Re : Post ID: @3kfp+1ux9PPEr . For what area? There is one ongoing right now in nyc and apparently so many people applied for it, the union is scared to release the numbers or information on it.

Re Post ID: @2swz+1ux9PPEr . I kind of agree . I don’t know their finances ,but a lot of guys with 35+ and late 60’s are not leaving . Milking the Verizon cow for ever

Doesn’t matter, these guys talked about taking a package for years, but when presented one (triple) at that, guys with 25+ even guys with 30+ didn’t take it. These guys’ finances are so fd up that they have to work until they die.

Union fighting it? I believe NY allowed all extras go last go around and heard most in Mass were allowed also

The unions must want to release techs maybe in order to start hiring fresh again

The union is fighting this one right now , so fingers crossed for another one . They don’t want these offers because too many members will put in for it.

I hope so. I’ll be able to take it next year. Also, the interest rates will be much lower.
