"Didn't we get rid of the debt when we spun off Warner and DirectTV?"
No Mr Stankey. We didn't but you're still a brilliant leader sir. :-)
Where did 143k HC come from? I see 152k(mgmt/union workers), npw drives it higher
I just wet my pants when I saw the word "debt"
It would be interesting to see the overall P&L statement of DTV for that period. Believe they provided some decent revenue the first few years but has dropped off significantly lately.
Didn't we get rid of the debt when we spun off Warner and DirectTV?
You're kidding. Didn't you see how much the companies devalued?
AT&T purchased DTV for $48.5 billion in 2015.
AT&T sold DTV to private equity for $7.6 billion.
That's a $41 billion loss in the span of 10 years.

I think 100K is the targeted headcount number not 75K.
Total debt is $126B, down from $151B at the end of 2121
Wave 3 is 12/13 so a lot will fall after it.
Oh, sorry--from the link someone else posted.
Anyone know what the current debt total is?
Total debt was $129.0 billion at the end of the third quarter, and net debt* was $125.8 billion. Page 3 of the news release from link you posted.
Interesting point. Understand the continued contracting/offshoring of positions. Wondering how much of this number is due to those 2 issues?
That headcount number is not accurate. It includes contractors
T stock holders who think the bounce T has had this year given the performance of the overall market is definitely a vibe.
Anyone know what the current debt total is? Quite a few reports and line items. Info is probably included somewhere.

We’ve still got a long way to reach 75K employee end strength.
