Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Employee head count YOY

152,740 to 143,630..

And the debt ratio is now sitting at 2.8% versus the 2.5 they want to achieve.

"Didn't we get rid of the debt when we spun off Warner and DirectTV?"

No Mr Stankey. We didn't but you're still a brilliant leader sir. :-)

Where did 143k HC come from? I see 152k(mgmt/union workers), npw drives it higher

It would be interesting to see the overall P&L statement of DTV for that period. Believe they provided some decent revenue the first few years but has dropped off significantly lately.

You're kidding. Didn't you see how much the companies devalued?

AT&T purchased DTV for $48.5 billion in 2015.
AT&T sold DTV to private equity for $7.6 billion.

That's a $41 billion loss in the span of 10 years.

I think 100K is the targeted headcount number not 75K.

Interesting point. Understand the continued contracting/offshoring of positions. Wondering how much of this number is due to those 2 issues?

That headcount number is not accurate. It includes contractors

T stock holders who think the bounce T has had this year given the performance of the overall market is definitely a vibe.

We’ve still got a long way to reach 75K employee end strength.
