Agree, staff owe them nothing, the amount of unpaid hours people have worked there with no thanks, sacrificing family time and events that can never be recovered. They are probably making it a condition of any redundancy payment that they don’t talk… which would carry no weight. I wish everyone the best over the coming weeks.

I don't think the Staff owe the company anything. I'd be going straight to the media. Staff there have been mistreated for years, just look at all the people who had to go out on stress leave, peoples health seriously impacted by the mismanagement and mistreatment by the senior team. There is nothing to lose by speaking out.

Staff have been asked not to talk to media or TDs. The opportunities about relocating to dublin per media reports are not the full truth. People are afraid to talk.

What's the timeline on the office closing? How did they decide who is keeping their job?

It hasn't been confirmed the wexford site is closing... so who knows?! Could be 3 months could be 18 months. Until they actually say something we are all just guessing

BNY is a big employer in Wexford, will be a hit to the town. Hopefully staff will be able to find other roles

Do they honestly think people won't notice the last piece of branding has been removed.... its literally left a giant gaping hole outside the building...and yet they still say nothing

WRC are waiting in the wings to ensure staff get treated fairly this will cost the bank and rightly so. Wexford was a solid dependable location staff will get their entitlements

If they are closing the office there is no way they will offer 6 weeks sub pay... the numbers are too high for a "cost saving" measure

New hires in Manchester, new office in Dublin, removal of the branding n renovation of the office all points to the Wexford office closing down. The decision will be made by mid February 2025, with the closure not being a literal closure of the office but a gradual transfer of clients from Wexford to other office like Dublin, Manchester etc. This process will likely take 1-2 years and in the meantime redundancies are offered at 6weeks pay per year of service. It’s projected 30% of current workforce will be offered a remote working contract while the remainder will either be offered positions in Dublin or redundancy itself. Hopefully another financial institution will take BNYs place but who knows

No update as of today.
All signs of BNY have been stripped from the IDA signs outside the building and all branding has been removed inside the building.

All you hear about in those BNY Lives is about Manchester Poland and India. The Dublin office you would assume is safe for the forseeable with the new office...but as for Wexford and Cork, its definitely just a matter of time

After the BNY Live on Wednesday you can see it's curtains.

The ah-right dude and his honchos do not have Wexford in their plans, it's all about the new palace in Dublin and elsewhere.

Remember that its about "running our company better".

But for Wexford staff, RV and the Ah-right dude do not respect you.

Happy Holidays!

What was said at the awards yesterday?

Very likely that office closure will be announced after Jan 6th '25

Wouldn't be at all surprised to see the office empty by end of March '25

The blatant way the office has been renovated for sale over the last few years is amazing and then to top it all off the office has had all BNY branding removed. Looks like it will never get the new branding!

Apparently wexford closing from q1 2025. Then cork closing q1 2026. The dubs want in back in the pale.

Wexford Office has been mismanaged for last few years by inexperienced personnel. People skills and ability to represent the office lacking. Few egotistical females with no people skills. Very poor.

All the signage gone, what a joke. So much for all branding/signage to be updated in September!

What are the odds on CBRE selling the place???

For those going to the office, realise you are a problem (for the CT chaps especially) , thrive on it!

Unfortunately/ fortunately, the Wexford office will not be closing in the next year. The staff numbers are too high..it may be a gradual downgrade but it will be a long process. Dont expect a full closure in the next 4 to 6 months

The CT chap referred to so many times in this thread, seems like he was sent down to Wexford to manage to water temperature and the frogs!

Wake up Wexford staff, don't believe the nonsense from Dublin!

Wake up and realise this has been going on for a few years now!

  • the bathroom renovations, not for staff but the next occupier!
  • redundancies across CT especially have been gradual
  • New hires in Dublin only
  • the Ireland 'head' stays in the pale
  • Signage / branding: what a joke.

To CT mgmt especially staff are carry the respect of frogs.

Take the boiled frog parable, this is how the company are managing the closing of the office without it making any headlines!

"If you are a frog, you jump from a pot of boiling water. But if you are placed in a pot of tepid water that is gradually heated to boiling, you die. This is the parable used to explain why humans react quickly to sudden events but fail to react to slowly changing conditions until it is too late."

Frustrating i think because there are so many rumours....but no official confirmation of anything.

Has the signage been removed to put up new BNY logos?
Is it being removed to be sold?
Are all the works happening to get it up to code to sell?
Staff are just in limbo

Passed by the office this week, all very sad. Looked like most signage removed, what the he-l is going on?

It most be very stressful on staff.

Rumour has it that Dublin leadership have abandoned Wexford so as to fill some new office somewhere on the quays.
