Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

I'm done. Effective immediately.

I have this email scheduled to send tomorrow morning at 6am and leaving my badge and laptop with security when I leave today with instructions on which team member to get it to.

Dear ***,

I’m done. Effective immediately, I am resigning from my position as ***. After watching the direction the company is taking, especially the CEO’s lack of judgment on key decisions like the return-to-work mandate, I’ve had enough. It’s clear this company is more interested in maintaining control and ignoring what’s best for employees than actually fostering a productive environment.

The return-to-office mandate is just the latest in a series of decisions that show no real understanding of what drives real business success or employee morale. It’s been frustrating to watch, and I can no longer be part of an organization that clearly doesn’t have a clue about where it’s heading.

This decision is final. It’s time to move on to something that aligns with my long-term career goals and respects my professional judgment.

Good luck with everything.

Sincerely,

I know where the OP is coming from. I also did something similar but with a few variations:

I sent an email to my supervisor in the evening letting him know that my company credit cards were stolen as I was eating a five star meal with trunk full of new laptops and audio equipment in the trunk of my car. I knew he wouldn’t get to my email for at least three days.

I then gave my stolen badge to a man on the street. I told him where he could find a warm place to sleep and a fridge full of left over chicken tikka masala and chicken fried rice.

I then submitted a resignation email to HR telling them that I was quitting because somebody refused to call me by my proper pronoun. (Mr. Bad A$$); and that they would be hearing from my attorney.

It's cute that you'd assume your manage would actually read your email.

Imagine office workers quitting because they have to actually go to an office to work.

Stinkbot had this posted to encourage people to quit.

What did your therapist say about that letter? I would fire them and find another one that would be honest with you ,stick a boot in your lazy rear end , tell you life is hard and that whining and complaining will never let you succeed at anything. Grow up or go start your own business and run it how you see fit because even a hamburger joint makes you come to work and do your job how THEY want it done. I bet you were in the corner crying with your thumb in your mouth Tuesday night. That says all the needs be said right there.

I mean, it’s not bad, and if it makes you feel good great.

But nobody’s reading it.

If I were going to send that I’d research my VPs home address and send it there.

If you are a management employee that is eligible for bonus you need to be on payroll at the end of the year to qualify for the bonus payout.

Just admit that you are lazy and don’t want to go to work

Too many words. Just use this:

I'm done. Effective immediately.

At that, it might actually just be too many words. Stop logging in and keep the words in your own head.

I'd give two weeks notice. And the reason should be, to pursue new opportunities. This would assume that your appraisal is satisfactory.

AT&T has a lot of locations, so, I would preserve that "rehire eligible". I know other people who also left for good, but then came back.

What’s so hard about going to the office for 5 days a week? I did it for 42-1/2 years with no ill effects. I was thankful to have a job with T for that many years, even though it was really difficult and challenging at times.

Instead, why don't you just stop showing up to work and claim every possible code in infor. Claim PTO, sick, family, bereavement, etc. etc. If may take them a month to fire you and then you get a month of extra pay for nothing. If you hate it that much, you shouldn't have a problem sc--wing them out of one month of pay!

I mean, if it makes you feel better. As far as anyone actually seeing it, caring, or moving on it...not a prayer. It will be filed with HR and never be seen by anyone that matters and no severance to boot.

I hope you realize you are forfeiting your $500 retirement dinner. All you have to do is continue to report to your work location until you are retirement eligible. You only need to report to your work location, productive work is entirely optional.

If your not laid off your a fool if you quit before getting another position. Not strategic unless you just don’t need money.

This message needs a lot of editing. It is way too long. Just get to the actual point and send the following:

Dear ***,

I am in a different station of life.

This decision is final.

Sincerely
