Subject: Follett Wants More Books! (We've been stupid, will you forgive us?)

Independent Supplier / Follett Partner,

Some of us have met already, but most of us have not. I wanted to take some time to introduce myself and to articulate Follett’s new strategy for textbook acquisition(s). My name is M.G. Our team goal is to acquire the right quantities of the highest quality books for Follett at the correct time at the correct price. In order to accomplish this, I believe we need to become an easier customer / wholesaler to do business with. Here at Follett, we call this “Hassle Free.” Additionally, I believe we need to establish more frequent communication in the spirit of reestablishing better working relationships with you, our valued suppliers! Let this be the first of many communications to come in our efforts to help you sell!

We realize that there have been some trials and tribulations with Follett over the last 12-16 months or so. We would like to thank you for your loyalty through these turbulent times. You have our commitment to become more hassle free!

You can help us by helping us to understand mistakes in our guide (access codes, new copy right years, crazy pricing, missing titles, etc) (We truly don't have a clue what we are doing.) Help us!

You have demonstrated that you don't care about us IMS bookstores. We get much better service from MBS....and they get our used books.

That we have long ago stopped thinking of Follett as a valued partner. We;ll get some books from you, but we stopped selling you books (buyback or rental).

Prices and commissions kept dropping and quite frankly the service stunk.

With all the "issues" (changes, closings, layoffs), there are undoubtedly stores with overstock and you are probably scrambling wondering where to sell your books! I have been a buyer for 14 years and will pay you the Follett Bluebook rate, plus 25% commission.
