Are any of you required to go to go to 3 meetings at the unemployment office or employability office as a requirement of receiving unemployment? I have been required to attend a class. Next, I am scheduled to work on my resume with an employment counselor followed by another meeting to review the progress made per the first two meetings. This is in addition to keeping track of at least 2 job inquiries a week. They want me to meet with a headhunter.
Well, this is my opinion. Unemployment insurance has been paid for me for over 35 years. It wasn't my choice to leave the company. COP told me to go get my employment. Why is the unemployment office making it so difficult? I haven't ever heard of the 3 required meetings before. When there, I found that most of the people there from COP had many years of employment with strong performance ratings. I was also told there were MANY employees just like me with 35+ years of service, strong performance ratings, and pay exceeding $100,000 per year who were laid off by COP in Bartlesville.
