Thread regarding L-3 Communications Holdings Inc. layoffs

Crime at L-3?

"The U.S. Department of Justice has announced that L-3 has agreed to pay $4.6 million to resolve overcharging allegations. The defense company performed rotary aviation maintenance and support services for the U.S. Army in Afghanistan, Iraq, Egypt and Kuwait under contracts with the U.S. Air Force. The U.S. government alleged that from 2006 to 2011, the company knowingly inflated labor hours for time spent by independent contractors at the military's Continental U.S. Replacement Centers in Fort Benning, Georgia and Fort Bliss, Texas."

Pocket change. 20 years ago the major defense contractor I worked for paid a $40 million fine and they were happy about it.

How about all the hours spent by the management team fooling around on their smart phones? They are an incredibly inefficient and spend much of their days fooling around on their phones. Probably costs customers $100 million a year at CSW alone. Fraud, waste and abuse gone wild. Can the WIFI records be reviewed?

What I love is mandatory overtime in order to bill more time when there is only 25-30hrs of work available.

We all see this everyday. We get told to limit the use of overhead or 1702. Even if there is nothing to do. I've been told to come up with ways to charge the program, to be creative. I've seen others told to do the same. Quality is especially creative.
