Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

Why does management still have weekly one-on-one meetings with ERs?

If UOP were really concerned about changing its operational model, managers would STOP pressurizing ERs for their weekly PSL. Traditional schools--even private liberal-arts schools--NEVER micro-manage their enrollment personnel. All ERs should send documents to the DoE and the HLC that talk about management's effort to pressurize ERs for numbers. The abuse needs to stop NOW.

@677--No, but my husband is drilling your fat wife--she told my guy you sport a "chode". I'm divorcing him for the same reason you should dump your fat whore. And no, I'm not interested in "choders" like fat, ugly you.

@CheckYS--Ghetto-speak and writing is what many UOP students produce--I'm not surprised you embrace this unintelligible nonsense as well. As to your assertion that UOP has corporate partnerships, you might want to include examples i.e., Wal-Mart, Goodwill. (Google, IBM, Microsoft, and other giants ) DON'T hire for-profit, diploma mill graduates, you silly cretin.

@591--UOP students--the vast majority--are "special education" retards who would never cut it in a traditional student environment. UOP pushes these fools along. LMAO. No matter how much you shill and spin, employers know this school is a remedial high school that churns out worthless diplomas.

350 - you're an idiot. Legitimate employers partner with UOP and pay for employees to earn an education where they know their staff will not be cutting out of work early to make it to class or be on time to their "online" class lecture. Fool! UOP is the real deal when it comes to a legitimate education for working adults. Spin it how you will, but nothing changes their place in that market.

Anyone questioning degrees and students success, should go on to uop's Facebook. Students have spoken and they say how hard they work, compare it to other traditional schools, and share their success into their careers. Yes the school is changing and targeting a more serious student. Isn't this what everyone wants? Yes, this will shrink jobs as student body. The best employees with the best integrity will remain. The alumni has spoken.

@355--you are correct. The effort is all smoke and mirrors for regulators and accrediting bodies. UOP and ALL for-profit scam schools are always trying to stay just one-step ahead of the people trying to legitimate them. All for-profit scam schools should have their Title IV funds suspended indefinitely.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the pre-admission "diagnostic" just determine the sequence of courses and does not prevent entrance? Literally anyone with a high school diploma or GED and access to title IV funding can attend, right?

It's a crap high school and legitimate employers know this, you dunce. Please see your local tailor so you can be fitted for "Asshat" garments. LMAO. Jesus Christ, you are a f***ing sub-moron.

@322--it's about speaking truth to power. UOP's original mission was noble, and then investors pushed for more and UOP capitulated and admitted ANYONE. Why do they "all of a sudden" have a program/entrance exam that screens new students, Sherlock? If you "bought" your degree after 2000 from UOP, your "credential" is worthless, a piece of parchment better suited as a cat box liner than a paper exhibiting your learned effort. Everyone knows for-profit schools are just diploma mills. Sorry you paid for something others cringe and laugh at when they see/hear you boast of your "education". Chalk up your idiotic mistake as a life lesson and warn others to steer clear of UOP and other for-profit diploma mills. Shalom.

There are millions of people who had familes, who had jobs and couldn't attend the public schools, yet due to the crushing debt and greed of these for-profits, along with their terrible reputations most of us can't find jobs even if we were the best of the best. We get denied as soon as SOFTWARE sees the shitty credentials on our resume. You are a fool if you think this doesn't happen at the vast majority of good jobs across the nation.

Personally I would be ashamed of all of you. This is bullying at it's best and do we work hard wirh our youth on morals. No wonder our country is a failure. We have hate in our hearts. Think about someone talking to your children this way, it's no different, it's still crude. Until we realize this we are all failures. One who points finger has 4 more pointing back.

@951--you really are desperate to defend a scam. I guess you do when you "graduate" from a diploma mill. You don't know any better as you were the first in your family to go to college. Sadly, this scam school is more a remedial high school than a college. It's never been a university. I bet your embarrassed when people ask you where you went to school--do you flash them a dopey smile and point to the red socks you're wearing? LMAO. You're just another simple-minded Phoenix. @896--wrong. The idiot is a person like you who shills for a diploma mill. This school is a scam. Student counts can be communicated via teports. No need for micromanaging halfwits in one-on-one meetings. These meetings are used to pressurize ERs for numbers. ERs should follow my advice and contact DoE and the HLC. This is a boiler room tactic and it will stop. I personally will put on the pressure. STOP PRESSURIZING ERs for numbers NOW, you f***ing lackeys.

While going to University of Phoenix is like making a deal with the Mob. Once you give them your info they will pressure you night and day to sign up, take on 4 times the debt that everyone else is, and send hordes of threatening collectors to bother you for years when their sham product turns out being a complete waste of time.

887 - A "real" university is just as good as your local DMV. Basically, come in, take a number, wait your turn. F*** all your other day priorities because we're going to suck all your time today to handle a simple conversation that could of been handled over the phone. Oh wait...you got in the wrong line and you been wating for 3 hours??? Sorry buddy, now you have to go down to building 3 and wait another 2.

887 is an idiot. Numbers still play a role in the business side. In order to efficiently address class sizes, availability, instructors needed there must be a good understanding of demand. If managers do not talk to ER's about their estimated student count for a start date these decisions are hard to make. It's also important for ER's to discover student concerns. Concerns can typically lead towards future obstacles that may prevent a student from reaching their goals. Traditional may not practice this but they should take example and implement. It wouldn't hurt them to know their students a bit more.

@857--you are Kook-Aid drinking moron. Again, traditional schools DO NOT do this. They have annual reviews, not weekly one-on-one meetings with their superiors. To use euphemisms like "accountability" demonstrates you are incapable of independent thought, and know nothing about how a real university administration is run. Again, ERs should send documents to the DoE and HLC. You should also tell these two bodies about how one-on-ones are used to pressurize ERs for numbers. UOP tells regulators and their employees it isn't about numbers, but then they play that game. IT MUST STOP NOW.
