@EN5PCnw-ibe (or so called "I WILL NEVER DO IT AGAIN") - if you hate it here why do not you resign and someone who like working here will be able to save their job. You are preaching moral things, and I think that'd be a very moral thing to do. People like @EN5PCnw-ibe drive me nuts, they tell you one thing and they do something completely different.

The support you gave ONLY to certain individuals can not even be described as commendable. The sadness of it all was that everyone was at risk and you only saw it as a way to be recognised by senior management, in the hope that it would save your own job and in some way help you step up the ladder.

As an employees representative if this is how you communicate, This says more about you ,than the people you represent and work with on a daily basis I was one of the staff in the redundancy pool I could have easily lost my home as well

I got laid off in April, I was a field specialist and I had been with SLB 8 years. I have nothing but best wishes for the people I worked with and that worked under me. The local management and upper management is the worst I have ever seen in any company in my life. I don't understand the company position on saving these assholes through the downturn, in my opinion that's where the lay offs should have started. The upper management contributes absolutely nothing, they nitpick and belittle people all for the sake to try to show how needed they are when in reality they are an unnecessary expense and are saved at the cost of someone's job that actually creates revenue.

It's funny to see the bitterness from some of you. You would not have been bitter if you were still employed and or saved enough money for down times in the oil field. It happens. Get over it. Be happy you got a layoff package instead of getting nothing. Honestly they didn't have to give you shit. With that said some of your points are very valid. Most of the management are poor at their perspective positions. Schlumberger has always been known it have more managers than anything else. Over staffed which is why they layoff. Instead of you complaining be a man and own up to your quality of work and inability to save properly. Stop buying crap and save.

I tell you what filled my resume. It was my hard work and dedication to a company that doesn't deserve me. I wish i knew better. I'll pass the message to the new grads, DO NOT APPLY FOR THIS fck company. People are just numbers it uses you in good times then gets rid of you in bad times, like an old shoe.....In not even 1 year? this company is letting go 30,000 Employees? People wake up, there is a growth strategy and contingency plans, SLB had none!. This is management fks failure and hard & honest people are paying the price for something they have no faut on.Yet, still Leadership roam around protected from any of that. Capitalism is about competition and not a cheating......

For those of you off to better futures or planning them away from SLB you sure are bitter. What I am reading isn't a company failure....it's you.

Your obviously not happy people. The fact Schlumberger employeed you, trained you, gave you meaninful employment to use on your current resumes proves how incredible they are.

You are a slave. Why? Because you work for someone else. You reap what you sew. I left in 2008 on my own and started my own business. Never looked back. I doubt you even have a job. You're probably at your sisters house half drunk in the guest bedroom.

You must have worked at SHTC Stonehouse, this is very typical of the longstanding selfish attitudes that are abundant there, as long as the managers get their PIP bonus they have very little regard for other peoples well being, regardless of how hard you work or your length of service.

I was one of the ones as many where who got laid off, Such a bunch of two faced wankers who where so called managers who could not run a bath , best thing is that i got a better job right opposite the wankers who laid me off ..... i will be waving them goodbye when they get laid off from our office window when they get laid off ..... and the brown nosers as well

For two rounds of redundancies I was an employees representative here in the UK, as required by UK law the workforce will have a rep to negotiate with the management concerning how the company proceeds with the redundancy process, the purpose is to ensure fair play.

Cause i agree with you, I still work for SLB but hate it and I hate the mother f---ing bastard manager I have the two faced bunch of twats that I work for.

So what have I done?

I have saved and planned and very soon I shall leave. With or without a package I shall be gone soon enough.

And one other thing the people I helped and represented are a bunch of bastards and bitches as well, the attitude you describe I witnessed in abundance - selfish individuals who only cared for themselves and were more than happy to watch others loose their jobs and maybe their homes as well - so called friends who just did not give a f---ing shit about their work mates at all.

No I will not represent people like that and neither will I negotiate with a management would does not care, all I want is my package and the exit door opened wide for me.
