It's a shame that Chevron let go of lots of productive employees in the first 2 rounds this year. There are instances of total shock and amazement when we hear the the names of certain employees being let go. We don't know which planet Chevron managers are from.
It's sad that nepotism rules at Chevron. If they want to be lean and efficient ala XOM (which will never happen!!!), they should have a serious look at positions / titles what have anything to do with "Coordinator" or "Liaison" -- or organizations / positions that did not exist before 2008, and which we have no clue what they do, e.g., SPOC (Strategic Planning and Organizational Capability). Was the group created to find a position for a friend that has no where to go, and it exploded into a monster? How about positions / people whose sole job is to attend meetings, and we have no clue what they do, what's their output? We have so many people whose function is to attend meetings, or act as "reminders" for someone else to do his or her job.
