I am a 28 year Chevron employee working overseas. I may not be able to get my Visa extended, and could be in the "Must Move" category in the Spring PDC. Has anyone heard if there will be a PDC in the Spring of 2016, or if it will be like the Fall of 2015? If you are not selected in the PDC, but can stay in your current position until near to the Fall 2016 PDC, are you allowed to take unused vacation and try again? I am too young to retire, and too old to get another good job. If I had any idea that this would happen, I would have never left the security of downstream (refinery).
For those of you laid off, you have my sympathy, and I sincerely hope that you come out on the other side better off than you were with the company. I would like to ask you if you were laid off, or if you went into the PDC and were not selected? Two of my coworkers checked the box for being willing to accept severance and they were not selected, so they retired. It was nice for them, since they were ready to go, and it left a spot for someone who wanted a job. My PMP was a +2 last year, and I expect it to be the same when the 2015 results come out. Have any of you been rated a +2 or a 1 and not been selected in the PDC? This will be my first experience with the PDC, because when I got this overseas position, it was off cycle, and they were looking for people to fill jobs that no one really wanted. I am a PSG 21 if that makes a difference on what the likelihood of selection is.
