Chevron Indonesia has identified a more flexible and competitive business model. And in order to achieve it, layoff are necessary. This action will give additional values for all stakeholders, including the people and the government.
Chevron’s management in Indonesia is also preparing another efficiency program, which consists of early retirement towards 25 percent of its total employees. Chevron currently has around 6,300 employees, with 30,000 partner employees in Indonesia. The US-based company will also close down the health care facility in a hospital or clinic, education subsidy, rental houses for the employees, and family gathering trip activity.
