2nd Round LR- Already started!!

Any info on which groups and locations are going to be targeted in the 2nd round LR??

My team in EMEAR was massively impacted in the Q1 LR and I am wondering if the already impacted teams will be revised again or is it going to hit other groups who were not impacted in Q1?? Please share any insights !

I love how these outsourced people who walk around campus like they rule this country but yet live in a filthy apartment, drive a beat Camry, and front like they are royalty. Keep prentending the I'm important and a genius act and I'll keep my "sure boss" way while living in my paid off 5 br 3 bath Los Gatos home while sipping on a chilled martini and not have to worry about who's sleeping in my corner tonight. Royalty whatever

Much better to cut in the US; all imported workers at $USD wages and the s/w quality is the worst. Much better to expand in Canada with the tax breaks or in the UK. UK folks always do great work and they are creative. Avoid India at all costs. AT&T customer calls for sev1 issues reveal how fed up they are with India support.

Five years of practise now so Cisco HR have the process finely tuned at this point.

You'd think so, but not so. In previous years, if you called the help desk #, they added a special option at the beginning for all impacted employees. This year, nada. In RTP, the outplacement company Cisco hired to assist us was not in the room that was on the HR Resource page. Go to the lobby ambassador to ask where they are and the LA doesn't even know that they're in the building, much less what room they're in. Is there a sign on the designated room telling us where to go instead? Hell no. Finely tuned my a$$. After turning in my laptop to the Local Technical Support Center (LTSC) on site and getting a receipt, my manager contacts me two weeks later asking if I turned in my laptop. He got a case saying my laptop was missing. I go by the LTSC and they tell me that the team in SJC is running 2 weeks behind because of the mass influx of laptops being shipped to them and they're the same 4-man team they've always been. You'd think they'd get some people to help, even if it's short-term contractors.

Last August LR seems to include Sales., This LR seems to be more Engineering. Is this accurate? Sales are not impacted this round of LR?

I think it's fair to say that European salaries are much lower than US ones for the same role so in terms of Economics it might be more beneficial to Cisco's bottom line to cut in the US if european laws make it more awkward anyway. Still not as cheap as India or China though. Cough 😃

European law makes it much more difficult to LR staff than in the US and that slows down the process significantly. In some European countries staff must be put on a 30 day notice warning which says you are "at risk of redundancy". Once that expires there is another month notice period where gardening leave is mandated but for the month where you are "at risk" you still have full CEC access and privilages but are not expected to perform any project work, do any handovers or even go to the office if you don't want to. Five years of practise now so Cisco HR have the process finely tuned at this point.

To vij... wasn't cloud one of cisco's 5 pillars or core strategies/priorities or something like that? How do they eliminate a whole team dedicated to one of their core strategies? I'm serious... are they that lame that they completely changed direction? It wouldn't surprise me, but do you know if cloud is no longer a priority? I haven't been there for quite some time so maybe I don't have the most recent info.

Europe lags behind US. US had two big LRs a bit less than 3 months apart. So... look for another round in Europe about first of year. Happy New Year!
