You are correct it is a business and we are employees who are really nothing more than pieces to be moved around and let go as the all so important market dictates.. But I think this site is releasing a lot of submerged feelings, that we honestly are not free to express at work, since the calls are monitored etc. We can not ever be really honest with our opinions. And I think this company as well as all the big insurance companies are a sad problem, This is not health CARE, this is a money making business for the shareholders and the top CEOs etc. If you believe in this model, bully for you. I had no idea how bad it was until I worked here, and I stay because I do like talking to the members and trying to help them etc. I have met wonderfully inspiring people of all ages members and coworkers. BUT The sad reality is taking government money, Medicare, and shifting it all around to limit what the recipients can get, and learning that our CEO stood to make millions if the Aetna deal went through, when we get platitudes and nice nice phrases like " Our Dream".... well I am sorry, when mbrs cry to me that they can not afford their premiums or meds or food... how am I supposed to jump for joy knowing that millionaires are making even more money beyond what they would ever spend in their lifetimes. I am not saying give away all the profits, understandably this is a business. But its an unbalanced model when people not necessarily deserving of such profits make so much while the workers deal with the nitty gritty and the members are not getting even the basic needs met.
