The cuts will be much more than 1%. It's how you define "cuts." My hours as a PT employee have gone down from 30, to 25, to 20, to 15, and now 10 hours a week (I will be leaving shortly, 10 hours is a waste of my time). It began just before Thanksgiving and continues. And don't give me that "It's that time of the year" sh--. We a had record-setting holiday season here in Florida, and even did a million dollars one week in my store - they gave everybody ice cream!! What, am I in 5th grade again?!
We don't have enough people to help all the customers anyway, and people walk out all the time because no one can help them. How many times do customers have to complain about this? Yeah, Lowe's is all about the customer. NO, Lowe's is about what's in the customers' wallets.
I hazard to say that 15-20,000 employees will be affected by this. All the while, corporate salaries and shareholders' wallets are getting fatter. Why do they care if 20,000 employees are put through the ringer? This is the mentality of the wealthy class.
Unions can't come soon enough to Lowe's.
