Sams Club to Annouce Cuts & Re structure Plan

January 25th there will be a closed door meeting with managers at every club location to announce structure changes to management and hourly associates. Big changes are coming some good some bad as the retail giant struggles to make spending cuts to hold on to the future of the business. With the growth of innovations of online shopping the future of retail locations may become part of the past and more jobs lost.

It had to be a couple of things that caused that store to close.

  1. Talk of unions

  2. The club only sold low margin stuff and it was losing money.

Either way, complaining won’t change anything. I don’t think they care what the customer thinks.

Sams you S--- for closing Fern Park Florida!!! I am trying to keep my small business and YOU are making things SO much HARDER for SO many people by closing THIS location! You have added MANY hours to my already long week. Now I have to drive at LEAST 10 miles through HORRIBLE traffic to get to another Sams. I WILL be checking out the other BIG BOX stores. If they carry what I need I , as I'm sure MANY others, WILL Say goodbye to you! I HOPE YOU feel the sting from us as we are all feeling from you! How dare you f--- with peoples lives! You should be ashamed of yourself!

Bad move Sams BAD MOVE! Fern Park Sams on 436 has got to be one of the busier stores. Great location. So many cities shop at this store. Maitland, Fern Park, Casselberry, Longwood, Altamonte Springs. Why would you close a store that effects so many

Are y'all crazy? Fern Park is a great store. I, for one, spend a lot of money there for my business and home needs. Bad move!

When I heard the news about Sams store in Fern Park closing their doors, I said it had to be a City of Casselberry aka Hasselberry decision. No one in their right mind would close the doors of a money maker like that store. This location is one of the busiest I've seen out of all the Sams I've been in.

The manager of the Sams in Fern Park was interviewed this morning for the local news. He said he felt his store was "safe". They met all their profit margins etc. it's not too late to change your mind. This really was a very bad decision

Your commercials are funny. The big wigs at Sams don't care about people. They care about the almighty dollar. So why would you close a busy store like Fern Park. Listen to the voices of the PEOPLE!

I personally spend at least $10,000 a month at the Fern Park Sams for my small business. I guess Costco, Restaurant Depot or BJ's would be happy to get the business. The other Sams are too far from me. This store is always packed. Who's choice was it to close THIS location? Not the sharpest tool in the shed!

I'm sure no matter what store you close people WILL complain. But the Sams in Fern Park is so busy and there is NOT another store close to the area. We wish whoever is in charge would please reconsider

NOOOOOOOOO PLEASE TELL ME THIS IS A BAD DREAM! All the other stores are SO FAR AWAY! Fern Park is the perfect location for so many. Always busy

OMgosh WHAT ARE YOU THINKING BY CLOSING THE STORE IN FERN PARK? Please reconsider! There are other Sams that don't do the business that Fern Park does! Close one of those instead!!

Don't mess with my man or my money's my motto. You are messing with my money by closing Sams in Fern Park. Have you checked their sales lately? I spend at LEAST $300-$400 per DAY at this store. I'm just one person! Big mistake closing this store. Costco is a lot closer than the NEXT closest Sams. They are least 30-40 mi utes away!

I heard one of the reason they are closing some of these locations was due to high shrink and talks about the union.

Do you know how many people count on THIS Sams store? Great location. Great employees. I've gone to THIS store for YEARS! WE are the reason you have your fancy house and nice things. I work very hard and do not appreciate what YOU are doing.

This is a horrible thing you are doing to so many faithful customers that have supported this store for years. It's at least 30-45 minutes to get to another Sams store

Isn't there multiple stores in Orlando. Why would you close a BUSY store like the one on 436? Terrible decision! Whomever is in charge of this decision should be fired

Have you checked the sales at the location in Fern Park? BAD business move!!! ALOT of people count on Sams in Fern Park to get supplies for the home and business. But YOU make enough money so who cares who you STEP ON in the process!! You should be ashamed!!!

The store located in Fern Park IS a very busy location. I am personally in that store on a DAILY basis, getting what is needed to run my small business. The closest stores to me are at least 30 minutes away. This is ridiculous! I understand that Walmart/Sams makes billions in profit a year! But you are definitely screwing the " little" man or woman like me! Thanks for making things harder on all of us! You should feel ashamed

What about employees who have not been with the company 10 years or less, also if there is only one of you in this position, does that mean this position will go away

Absolutely no one is losing their jobs. Previous post was correct. Fresh assistant manager role is changing with more pay and bonus structure.

Go to Walmartone.com under education and careers go to associate job search there you find corporate and field positions. As for the Fresh manager position it's not getting cut or laid off they have to apply for there position and if accepted they are locked into the position for 2yrs and if they are not they have 60 days to look for another position in the company.

And they will be able to stay there at some capacity maybe at less pay but still with a job. Folks at home office will have nowhere to go locally with Walmart except stores.

So fresh managers are being laid off?

by

Post ID: @2obl+LsS7x8c

That wouldn't be so bad but imagine the stress level is going to go up tremendously. I would say the expectations and accountability will be unreal.

by

Post ID: @2ncw+LsS7x8c

Basically Fresh Managers will have to re apply for there position and if not chosen they will have 60 days to find another position in the company or take a severance package. If chosen it will be every 2 years re apply with a 10% pay increase and only report to the market manager for now on.

I hope nobody loses their jobs but it sounds like the membership manager could be the one being phased just from these posts.
