I've been talking to the national vendors for Lowe's, the folks who come in to work in the stores. Without exception, they tell me that morale is down everywhere due to this restructuring. Sales are soft, too. Lowe's is desperate, the managers are fumbling and blaming the workers for the problems.
A vendor that works 7 stores in South Florida says he's seeing so much turnover and new hiring - in an attempt to keep the stores running - that he doesn't recognize half the staff each time he visits these stores, including mine! :o Wow, what a boondoggle this new "management" is. The CEOs and upper managers will make their unjustifiably high salaries, but the stores are in disarray.
What a colossal blunder...Lowe's will never catch Home Depot, and will probably slip to 3rd in the big box DIY market soon. When the DIY "craze" is over, sell all your stock in Lowe's (if you're stupid enough to have any in the first place) because they will tank big time.
