Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Everyone likes drama and that is what is created by all of this.

There is no sense blaming any one group at Sears as for the most part at every level it is just hard working individuals trying to make money and keep a job.

The articles that should be written are the ones detailing what happens as the ripple effect if something does happen to Sears such as a bankruptcy....the other corporations affected etc.

But everyone would rather just post silly pictures of stores that we all know are oversized and need help. I challenge the reporters to speak to the human element.

I guess the question is who is deciding in your stores who gets the hours? Is it the Market Manager or the Store Manager. Also is a Market Manager the same as a District Manager? I know the Appliance Market Manager was out working hard in Vernon Hills and Dundee last Friday moving product to the floor, etc. So yes there are some good ones out there. It is sometimes hard to tell that on this forum.

Also yes there are plenty of jobs being cut in Hoffman Estates too or not being filled. I kind of keep my mouth shut and work. After all, they are paying me to work so if I have more work it kind of just is what it is. I would rather have something to do than not have a job.

Most people are on here to vent and discuss their feelings about Sears/KMart. Pretty much all the topics about why SHC is falling further down the abyss has been discussed endlessly. In many respects, SHC is a case study on how not to run a company or a warning sign of what will happen if you don't legitimately work hard to improve things.

In case you didn't notice they are cutting people who make "big money" and plenty more of them are leaving, probably for more money elsewhere.

I don't think no one is here for the drama, but they are fed up with the way the company treats their employees. Sears hasn't innovated for years they are behind and don't try to actually change instead they do changes that just exploit the actual company.

I think everyone just wants to speak their mind, their experiences in working here. When I started off the only thing I liked more than making my pay check was looking forward to work with my co workers. They were the best part of working here on contrary management is pure sh--. Every year they do the yearly review I don't care what they tell me because in the end of the day I am going to make the same amount of money I started off minimum wage. Lets not forget how they screwed us over with getting rid of our associate discount and exchange it with getting more points! Course a way to have its actual workers keep spending their hard earned money at Sears. Lets not forget the most recent incident where they cut the hours to like a 1/3 of what we would get. Ya they cut the hours so bad that some people got 3 hours in a week like what is that? Theirs lots of ways to actually save some money, but really cut the lowest people instead maybe cut the ones that make the bigger $$$.

I can go on, but anyone that actual has eyes and works at Sears knows whats up your motivation goes down because their is nothing that motivates you. Yet look at other retail companies like Costco, Walmart, Target, Lowes etc being big giants some get better pay promotion (course Costco being the #1) yet Sears could give a rats a-- for your own life. So no its not the drama its actual the way corporate treats its workers they don't reward you and just want to feed you b---s---....

hey corporate dunce - shouldn't you be spending every second on turning the company around instead of "correcting the record"? Or have you all already given up and are playing damage control until the news drops?
