To you cabinet specialist-
Before you speak about the role of a PSE or PSI please educate yourself.
It's sad that you believe that you do all the work and that PSE's just present and get credit.
Perhaps you're just part of the problem. Your beliefs and portrayal of what you think fellow employees do and don't do is part of what is creating the divide within the store's.
As a PSE's I can tell you I put in more hours (55-60) each week, have more responsibility, more moving parts, and more challenges than any position at an associate level.
Can you train and coach associates about the program?
Can you successfully present and sell 9 different categories within a customers home?
Do you have the skill set to pre qualify a lead and get into the home?
Successfully present and sell a products against numerous competitor quotes who are often lower in cost?
Do you have the knowledge and ability to position yourself so that the customer commits to purchasing and not walk out of the home without a contract?
Do you manage the project, coordinate with various installers, work with CPO, pull product, perform onsite visits for installs, customer follow up, and deal with all the issues that come with being a PSE?
Needless to mention having the presssures of a monster budget hanigng over your head.
I don't the think you do.
Oh yeah, your comment about us getting paid commission. Did you ever stop to think that if we don't sell we don't eat. PSE' and PSI's don't have the luxury of collecting full pay just by showing up. Our income is dependent on many things.
Did I mention that we're are also the 1st one to give it back as well. Yes, we often get chargebacks to our commissions when part of the job goes wrong. Let's see...Deliveries drops the ball and forgets to send part of the order, the installer shows up late, the manufacturer doesn't sent product quick enough, etc.. These things give the customer reason to complain. When's they do, Lowe's then gives back money. When money is given back to the customer it comes off the PSE's sales totals and commission. So, for each mistake that someone other than the PSE makes we pay for it. I wonder what would happen if this applied to all associates and not just PSE/PSI. I'm sure you'd be the 1st one back on here complaining.
So, if you think our job is so glamorous, so easy, and that we do nothing to earn the commissions we get then apply to be a PSE or PSI.
I'd bet my position and earnings that you would make it 6 months.
