That 7 Indians for 1 US worker claim is really misleading. Yes, If you fire a highly skilled and experienced person and replace them with a helpless person in their early 20s, then yes, you can replace your one US worker with 7 Indians. The problems isn't so much that we only higher in India for most teams (don't get me wrong, it IS a problem, just not our worst), but that we now only hire very inexperienced and low-skilled People (outside of BMC at least). The cost of living in India has risen so much the past two decades, that the pay difference for EQUALLY skilled / experienced people is only about 50% (if we make 150k, they make 100k). But we don't hire equally skilled people, we only hire children with almost no experience or skills. (Think Class Of, but for engineers.) I think this is a way to make it look like they are not liquidating the company on paper (in other words, the number of people does not change as much), but in fact they are totally cutting us off at the knees.
