"Gibberish" -- I don't think so.
Just to be clear, it isn't everywhere within Oracle. There are some very good and some very smart people who work there. There are some women (SC as a prime example) who have done exceptionally well. There are some minorities who do their job with distinction and are recognized as such. If you find yourself surrounded by excellent peers and a great manager, count yourself as lucky and enjoy it while you can.
However, I personally have seen and know of people that have been impacted. I have heard of how HR or the ethics group deflects legitimate complaints and protects management and the company. I have seen individuals who, in a variety of ways, were screwed over by their management and Oracle as a whole. If HR can't contain things, Oracle does resort to leveraging its sizable and well funded legal team to stall and frustrate anyone who raises valid issues.
It takes someone with the resources of the Dept. of Labor to even make a dent in Oracle. While I hope that Oracle will see the internal issues and address them, that seems overly optimistic. In the end, it appears that the "best" case is that Oracle might get a small fine or settle out of court, but with SC having connections with the administration, even that feels like hoping for too much.
