Was considering filing a claim with EEOC Per harassment experiences that I had to endure while at Oracle. Will probably follow through since I have significant documentation.

"...I attempted to contact the Dept. of Labor, but never received a call back. Any idea.."

I can't share the name on this forum..but try > www.dol.gov/ofccp and go under 'contact'--

look for :

US Department of Labor | Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs

| 1640 S. Sepulveda Boulevard, Suite 440 | Los Angeles, CA 90025|

with some effort you'll find the officer in charge of Oracle USA....

BTW-- to the -"Gibberish" respondant (Post ID: @OdapwKA-coo )-- you are sooo.. out of touch with

those employees who have been taken for a ride for years..by the top FATs and line managers of oracle.. know what you are talking about fool..!

I attempted to contact the Dept. of Labor, but never received a call back. Any idea of who to actually contact? I at least have another example of the rampant favoritism of the men in the ranks.

"Gibberish" -- I don't think so.

Just to be clear, it isn't everywhere within Oracle. There are some very good and some very smart people who work there. There are some women (SC as a prime example) who have done exceptionally well. There are some minorities who do their job with distinction and are recognized as such. If you find yourself surrounded by excellent peers and a great manager, count yourself as lucky and enjoy it while you can.

However, I personally have seen and know of people that have been impacted. I have heard of how HR or the ethics group deflects legitimate complaints and protects management and the company. I have seen individuals who, in a variety of ways, were screwed over by their management and Oracle as a whole. If HR can't contain things, Oracle does resort to leveraging its sizable and well funded legal team to stall and frustrate anyone who raises valid issues.

It takes someone with the resources of the Dept. of Labor to even make a dent in Oracle. While I hope that Oracle will see the internal issues and address them, that seems overly optimistic. In the end, it appears that the "best" case is that Oracle might get a small fine or settle out of court, but with SC having connections with the administration, even that feels like hoping for too much.

Couldn't be happening to a nicer group of male chauvinist. SC just helps to cover it up to earn her bonus

Is it about the ongoing discrimination lawsuit? https://www.dol.gov/newsroom/releases/ofccp/ofccp20170118-0

Given that TK has filled his organization with "Asian" employees and that 1/4 of the overall company is now based in a very specific Asian country, there is no doubt that the chances of "non-Asian" developers getting a job at Oracle has been impacted.

In terms of Oracle being heavily white male and it impacting others chances and pay, I'd bet it is true. What I've observed is that it tends to show up as a good 'ol boys network that forms around organizational power/location. Anyone who is on the team outside of the central location and/or is "different" (gender, ethnicity) often gets "penalized" in subtle and not so subtle ways. To be fair though, while there are plenty of examples of it happening in white male dominated teams, I've also seen it happen with female leaders as they become surrounded by a staff of female direct reports and Indian leaders as they grow a staff of Indian direct reports. However, given that white males are the majority in the company, the easy target is to show that females and non-whites are at a disadvantage. What I've seen personally indicates that females are the ones most subjected to bias and to be targeted/penalized. Given MH's and LE's history with females, it really shouldn't be a surprise that the Oracle culture has elements in it and that HR acts as a shield to the organization instead of taking issues of females or minorities seriously.

I hope Oracle gets more than a slap on the wrist for this.
