Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

So long, Swoosh.

I'm glad people are seeing Nike for what it has become... a once-great, money-grubbing, consultant-beholden, soul-less pretender. "Do the right thing", as the maxim goes. Yeah, right. I'm not surprised they axed their most experienced employees. They're better compensated, never mind that they've earned it. However, I AM surprised Nike hasn't been hit with a class-action lawsuit yet. This farce is totally age-related. Cut the cr*p about getting closer to the consumer. The aging managers who thought their loyalty would be rewarded, will be replaced with cheaper, wide-eyed, juiced up foot-soldiers drinking the Kool-Aid served up within the berm. In the end, there is no noble reason, no higher calling. It's the money, stupid. Hey Mark, Trevor, Eric and the rest of you in your corner offices responsible for this mess. You axed your most loyal FTEs whose families had the most to lose. May you wake up at night and ponder the consequences of your ineptitude. And choke on your golden parachutes.

Used to be Nike was cool because of the good people working there now it seems that people are cool because they work there.

Nike culture died when it became more important to identify problems than to solve them. When Nike culture died so did the innovation.

I saw a former Nike vp on a date with a women that was promoted very quickly while she worked (and travelled) with and for him. Stupid on both their parts.

Nike...good luck...trying to pull out of this death spin with your narcissistic Millennials running the show. This is a generation of simultaneously apathetic, arrogant, and ignorant adults who are something special, cause Mom and Dad and their 5th grade teacher Mrs. Winotsky told them so. Plus they have a whole shelf of participation trophies sitting at home so it has to be true.

They believe themselves to be highly intelligent, the teachers and lecturers constantly gave them "A"'s in order to keep Mom and Dad from complaining to the Dean. Unfortunately, nobody explained to them the difference between and education and grade inflation.

At Nike, Millennials believe themselves to be overachievers who just aren't understood by their loser bosses. #digimob. Even Mom said so when she showed up for the interview. They are the only generation in the universe to understand the concept of work/life balance and to actually want to find a fulfilling career. All those Gen X losers just don't get it what with hoping to keep their jobs and pay the bills but they are just corporate drone so who cares what they think? They should be smart like Millennials and get Mom and Dad to pay for that stuff until they can work out what they want to do with their lives and then get rich doing it.

Well, I've been here at this job for 6 months now and I've been on time mostly so I should get a raise now 'cause I've paid my dues.'

Did you know we are the most technologically advanced generation, like eva? And smart too.

smh.

With all of the s-xual assault victims, across many different industries coming forward, I'm surprised we haven't seen anyone from Nike gone public yet. There have absolutely been allegations, even on this very forum, about some prominent VPs (cough NorthAmericaDigial cough), who behaved inappropriately. It's only a matter of time.
