We are a disorganized mess with meetings about why there are so many meetings.
There's at 3 to 5 people to do a single job, each in a different location, each thinking they are the only person doing the job.
There are politics on top of the politics.
But the company executives don't care about efficiency - it's always been throw money at the problem for fear of stepping on somebodies toes. Locations like RTP are a disaster and the model of an organization who not only doesn't pull its weight, it pulls everybody else down with it.
Many execs should have been fired a long time ago. How many times can they fudge the numbers to look like the apps processor is the best thing out there, while they underplay market benchmarking and say "they just didn't optimize it for us?"
How many times can that group say "everything is fine" until its obvious that it isn't and a tapeout gets missed or a major bug is in a product?
Remember the "Fabric" that was going to make bus design so much better? How about that crappy design process (what was it called) they imposed on everyone else so they, and they alone, could control the design flow of the company. Dollars wasted, lives lost.
Get rid of that entire group to start with and send them packing back to IBM, where most of them came from.
