Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

How many of our best employees do we have to lose before Honeywell does something?

I am not talking about layoffs, I'm referring to people leaving on their own because they are so tired of the crap Honeywell has been pulling for the past couple of years.

The best are leaving in droves and the leeches are only ones staying. What happens to Honeywell when they have nobody to leech off?

ALL OF THEM! I retired last March and i don't regret a single moment of it. I was able to retire at 65 and get medicare after Honeywell pulled my medical coverage after retirement. If you have any ability to get out of Honeywell do it. My blood pressure plummeted after i left baffling my doctor but not me.After the commute and the pressure at Honeywell was gone I am alive and happy!

Two of my technical coworker Band 4 friends left in the past few weeks. Both got signing bonus of 1.5 and 2x their 2017 MIP bonus to leave and join the new company immediately rather than waiting until March 9th

I still think we will see a lot of people take 2 week so vacation in April as they start their new jobs and then give HON notice they are quitting April 30 and take 2 more weeks of vacation

Management s---s. Don't even think about getting promoted. Because you wont. Jump ship would be a better solution. All they care about is their stupid metrics. And if you get their metrics, haha no recognition or even a simple thank you. b---s--- company. I left to pursue a real career. HR also doea not give a cap about employees. HRand managers work together to get people fired or laid off. Promotions would happen only if you have a great boss. There are a few there.

I left this toxic environment a couple months ago and I'm at an awesome new job. My only issue is that my bosses respect me and my work and I don't know how to take it....this is a great problem to have.

If you are Aerospace employee in a NON high growth region , you are a liability. They don’t think they need you. 5 people in an HGR can do you your job for less . That is aerospace theory . Just look for another job. No other choice . That is reality .

The short answer is: all of them. HON WANTS all of us to leave. Don't you guys get this by now? With HOS, they can magically get your replacement in Indiar to do your job and at a substantial cost savings to boot! HON figured out that RIFing everyone is risky and costly. Risky becuaee it's usually an age orincome based RIF so the risk of litigation is real, and costly due to RIF packages. Why not encourange people to leave on their own while saving money at tjesame time?? Here's how you do it:

F--- people over at every turn.

Change retirement packages to encourage retirement

Change policy to unlimited vacation to avoid paying out unused days when employees leave

Create a stressful work environment with endless metric chasing which accomplishes ZERO

Demotivate employees by promoting retarded dipshits to key management positions

Play favorites when selecting those to promote

Have constant RIFs every couple of months

As you can see, it's working perfectly! The good ones are leaving in droves leaving the slugs and dipshit "leaders" behind.

Mission accomplished!

bbe here,

I've got to squeeze out another 2-3 years max. I think my division will be around for the next 5-10 at least as my team has "boots on the ground" at many customer sites and will not be easily outsourced to another company and it would be impossible to send over seas. Why would I not stay for more $$$. No need to be sour @ zrm.

I spent 18 years working for HW, starting shortly after leaving the military in 1996. I did my best every day, and was properly rewarded until things went south with the HOS cult leadership. I finally had enough of the metric chasing culture and left about a year and a half ago at the age of 56. The biggest hit I took was receiving fewer vacation hours, but the reduced stress, and actually being appreciated for my efforts make the change so worth it that the only regret I have is not leaving sooner.

It has come to my attention that not all who post to this site are actually employees. From now on; please include your Employee Number on all posts and replies, in order to prove that you are actually an employee.

Honeywell is a great employer who foster a spirit of innovation with competitive pay, great insurance benefits, unlimited vacation, and generous retirement benefit. Honeywell is a great place to launch a successful career.

What is all the complaining about? Take advantage of the unlimited VAC. Now we're free to thru-hike the Appalachian Trail on HON's dime. Take 3 months to go from Springer Mountain, GA to Maine and not even miss a paycheck. It's a beautiful thing.

Started working for Honeywell after military service, thought it was good company, was making good professional progress, hired for new role, then hiring manager left and new one came in. Wanted to bring in "his" guys, was put on a PIP to be forced out. Left HW after 4 years for less pay but better leadership, experience changed my mind. You can keep your $$$$ and metric chasing stupidity, I will keep my stress free life and health.

The only person who worked at Honeywell for any reason other than a paycheck was Mr. Honeywell. Everyone else is there for a paycheck.

No Offense, but your comments about gene pool and otherwise vulgar response to -bbe is a clear indication that you are not of the caliber of the person you're castigating, either in ability, class, or IQ. As for never accepting a counter-offer, not one of the reasons mentioned paying bills, and the poster will be able to continue to pay bills, save more, invest more and likely has a vested interest in staying. The market is getting better and better and if they got one job offer, they can get another after they are "out the door". In the meantime, it would appear they are making a bundle. As far as them being "low IQ", I'm betting that they have you beat by a mile. I've worked with folks like yourself and have seen them all come and go, with no loss or lasting impression.

Personally, I was RIF'd and could not be happier. You on the other hand, it sounds like you have a problem in your life.

BBE - to quote Ron Burgundy in Achor man II...."no offense but you're an a--hole"

How stupid can you be? Now they know you aren't happy and are willing to go as far as to look and accept an offer. They kept you for knowledge transfer or something like this and as soon as that's done your low IQ a-- is out the door. Go google "never accpt a counter offer". Hopefully you don't have kids and didn't pollute the gene pool.

Not to mention...whats already been said. You had a ticket out..is more money worth the misery of working in a place that 5h1ts on you daily and makes you miserable?

what a friggin dummy...no offense

-bbe,

So you were unhappy enough to take time off of work to get another job offer, but as soon as they throw money, you are happy enough to stay. Was money the only reason you were unhappy at Honeywell? If not, please explain how money corrected the issue that made you unhappy enough to look for a job?

I had been thinking about leaving for the past few months and went as far as to take an interview and receive a job offer with another company. Honeywell got wind and offered me a substantial raise to stay which I accepted. So to everyone out there. There is hope, however bleak it may currently seem.

They have extremely low regards for current and retired employees so will surely lay off more. Most recently they outsourced to one of the worst companies I have ever been forced to deal with -

Conduent HR Services LLL-Honeywell to try and navigate getting COBRA. It is so obvious that they do not consider employees welfare or they would not have done so. Very sad to see a company I spent so many years with, go down the tubes.

@1sm, it's a good thing that you make a "dam good living", hopefully you are saving diligently and when they determine that they can find a way to do what you do without having to pay someone a "dam good living" you may be fortunate enough to get a small RIF package.

The previous CEO delivered strong results for shareholders for years on the backs of employees and it didn't faze him because he had no heart. Our new CEO has no heart or soul and the pace at which some of these changes come will increase. He cares what wall street thinks and says about him, but couldn't care less how employees feel or what they say.

They are absolutely demotivating good people. I have invested my own time and money for more education and training to be better at my job and to also improve my odds of promotion. Sometimes it paid off sometimes not

Now it never pays off. The 2-3 layers of leaders above me are totally unqualified for the roles and refuse to listen to those with skills, training, and wisdom. This is totally demotivated me and many other high quality friends and peers. Just wait until HPD reviews and everyone is a 5. That will be the last straw for me. Once MIP pays in March

I think it's obvious at this point. They intend to change nothing. If they were going to do something, they would have by now.

The tragic part is that we are losing our best, and our future, not our weaklings.

Our site along with every site I deal with continue to lose people at an alarming rate. Even our replacements have begun to jump ship.
