Getting rid of the clerk or any other day receiving position would cause chaos in the club. People don't realize how much we do and how busy we are.
We do paperwork, make copies for people, put tags on bails, unlock the bailer, build professional relationships with outside vendors and ups by engaging in important conversations. We buzz people in all morning, take phone calls to write appointments, hand yellow vests to produce associates so they can go spot. We engage in research in the office by checking websites like this one to keep fellow associates informed. We stay late each day, making us have to leave early every Friday.
Speaking of schedules, we never get week days off unless we ask for them. We have to work 5 days straight no matter what. Meanwhile other associates get easy random scedhules to help break up their week. Even managers get better schedules. Having weekends always off is horrible! How come we don't get to close and then come in a few hours later to start a new shift?
Don't get me started on night receiving. Lazy. There's always atleast one working. They pull a few trucks (2 DCs, water, paper, 3 CRLS, Mcclane) and then have nothing to do. Always leaving breakdowns for the 4 of us on the dock to do when we are swamped. If one of us on days takes vacation we only have 3 people on the dock at any given time. That's insane! They also don't have to get radios at night to bring back to the office to shut off.
If Sam's gets rid of be ready for all the clubs to start falling apart more than they already are.
