who cares? Whether it is Kmart, Kreske, Sears or SHC, the reality is that this company cannot make it.

the debt plus, pension obligation, plus the reputation, plus the CEO equal BK within a year. The only thing that keeps this thing going is Eddies deep pockets and the Assets of Sears i.e real estate, craftsman, kenmore, die hard etc. As they go so goes the company. Get a clue and and a financial education people. Sears is done for and dead in the water. Just a matter of time.

@1oum if you want to be technical, Kmart stores were run along with and kept separate from the Kresge stores proper. Kresge proper was sold off to McCrory's. Kmart was founded under the S.S. Kresge Corporation, but we're not derived from the Kresge name proper.

Kmart as it stands today has no ties to Kresge.

The Kmart legacy is intrinsically linked to the S S Kresge legacy. That's what Kmart came from. Sebastian Kresge is the founder, it doesn't matter what the actual company that owns Kmart is called, Kmart comes from Kresge.

First and foremost, any reference to Kresge's withered away in the late 70s/early 80s. It's been Kmart Corporation for a while until 2005 when it became Sears Holdings Corporation.

If you want to be a tad more convincing, you'd drop the Kresge nonsense out of your rhetoric. Not that your rhetoric means anything, but you'd do yourself a favor and refer to Kmart as Kmart, or the parent company as Sears Holdings Corporation.

As I customer I will say Kmart is a dump. Years ago when I did visit, they were out of stock on the sale items I wanted. Almost every time so I gave up. Stores were dated and messy. I have no reason to think they have improved over the years. With Walmart, Dollar General, Amazon, etc there is no way for Kmart to survive. And I say good riddance. I am sorry to see Sears go away but I haven't shopped there in years either so...

Truth #4. If you don't like Kmart and you don't see a future in it then why have so little self respect as to work for a company that you don't want to succeed. Every employee is part of the success of a retailer. If employees give up on Kmart and don't see a future then they'll bring about that reality. You chose to work there and you choose to take the pay check, have self respect and take pride in your company and your role in bringing Kresge's into the future.

In the right markets some Kmarts are doing well. We have 2 in our county here in California and one of them is one of the top Kmarts in the region and the nation.

I did check shop your way lol , Amazon was the last place I looked for the equipment I needed. SHLD does not have a comparable item. Wal Mart, Lowes, Home Depot did , the price was not right though. Now to get a backup sewing machine i can depend on (NOT KENMORE)

I need a portable power station for my new vending setup , because at 48 I am going back to selling handmade patchwork clothes on Dead and Co Tour , just like I used to on Grateful dead tour. I am doing this because jobs are hard to come by in my particular city . Find me something that can be used indoor/outdoor that can be hooked to a solar panel for charging cheaper than Amazon , through SHLD . needs to be minimum 288Wh 500 watts with 4 AC outlets and 4 USB . Price to beat is $279
