Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Union or not-union workers- there are good and bad workers on both sides

I'm an agreement worker..not by choice...and I work more hours and more days than at least 95% of the non-agreement people in my department. Please think before grouping people as union or non-agreement or whatever term you want to use to make it easy on yourself. Most of the time, companies should do a better job of trimming the 'useless fat'..and at U.P. there is useless fat on agreement and non-agreement side. I see management people get raises automatically at least once a year and don't even get in 40hrs work..

The person who posted this got it right ( OP @VFjEKbw-1uqh ). This kind of story only divides the workers and in my opinion, that’s what the management want. Think that grouping people benefits no one.

Plenty of agreement workers in the glass palace. Some of the best and some of the worst employees. They just sit and work at a computer all day too. It takes all of us to run a railroad. This debate should be elsewhere. All we want here is solid information about the impending layoff.

Hire college grads only hahaha. That’s hilarious that’s what got us in this downward spiral. I’m a non agreement manager climbed the ranks from the bottom. The workers are what make this company great we need to get rid of the college grads that have no idea how to change a brake shoe or start a locomotive. You sir do not know how to railroad.

It's sad to see people openly root for others to lose their jobs. I don't look at the non-agreement with disdain nor do I want them to lose their jobs. However if you think unions are the issue you'd be wrong, there's a culture problem that was created by both parties when the railroad was subsidized. We all need to work together to move frieght and if you're a union rep. and guys are laying down find a way to get rid of them. The union should live itself and make sure the work is done and done right. On the other hand the company can't complain when the employees are trying to comply with an over abundance of rules created by the company. Change the adversarial environment on both sides and things will run great. Just for information im an agreement employee with a degree. Again nobody should celebrate or want others to lose their jobs it's petty and shows what kind of character you have.

Here’s how smart toy agreement folk are... Union Pacific doesn’t reference the Union workforce... the Union Pacific was here before labor unions.. it references the Union as in our country when it was founded.. you just proved why you’re a mo--n...

News flash, if you are a non-agreement employee and you do not supervise people your not really a manager what you really are is expendable. This company only cares about the bottom line and the people at the top do not care who's lives they ruin.

Yeah we agreement people don’t have a clue. We only move freight and repair the infrastructure while y’all sit in an air conditioned building working on a computer. Because computer work is railroading. GTFOH.

We don’t have to bust them up- we just have to automate them out of their jobs.

The name of the company is Union Pacific, if you don't like unions you shouldn't work here. You bring stupid to a whole new level.

The unions are what ruined this company. Can’t stand any of the agreement people. Don’t have a clue about this company but they think they know everything. We need to hire college grads only and bust our unions.
