Both Lance and Beth expressed in the September Town Hall that there were NOT plans to immediately and deeply cut workforce similar to what happened at CSX (listen to itfor quotes). In the August Town Hall, Lance stated there were no planned layoffs. How then, in a matter of less than 1 month AND prior to even fully implementing the new PSR plan were they able to “thoughtfully re-organize” work to make Tuesdays cuts. Fascinating? Not really. They lied.
Clearly, senior leadership is NOT held to the same standard to which it holds its employees. We fire folks for dishonesty or ethics violations all the time. MAPS defines dishonesty as “when an employee’s actions or statements constitute lying, cheating, theft or deception.” I also direct readers to the How Matters ethics policy. How is Lance not subject to the same rules?
