I hate to say this, but I guess Sears employees must be pretty dumb as a whole. You people are too stupid to even see what is going on around you. No wonder Eddie pulled off what he did.

The list is wrong as back in July the Chicago, IL store was already closed. It was all over the news in the Midwest. This list is not real but the dates haven’t been set for when anything is being done next. The November 15th hearing was cancelled by Sears to an undetermined date per a text message memo sent to blue crew a week ago.

@1ath, this is a rumor site, not a news portal. Someone posted this as a rumor. Can turn out to be true, as many things posted here (from filing date to site closures) did. Time will tell. Can choose to read this and take it with a grain of salt, but still brace yourself for the impact, or just ignore this site existence and wait to read about it in the news.

This list was pulled from the BK filing. We won't know about these stores for sure until about November 15. Some of these stores listed below will survive. We just don't know which ones yet. The OP is a troll.

@itfr, maybe because this is the up for consideration list and they still haven't decided so until they're sure they're not closing these ones, they won't ship out the clearance to other closing stores. Certainly this list supports the idea of Kmart being saved. If your Kmart is on the consideration list, this is the time to get your community supporting Kmart. This is the time to push for extra sales. More customers= equals more profits= equals stores staying open. I think we're on the cusp of a new Kmart. How sad it would be for communities to keep their Kmarts through all the closings only to not make the final cut for the rebirth.

If this list is not correct then can someone explain why all these stores are the only ones not transferring merchandise into a closing store?

What is that supposed to mean?....The OP posted this list as a done deal when in fact it is a list of stores under review that has not been officially confirmed yet.

So someone that is trying to clarify that the original post is not accurate is told to "get with the program?"

Nope not a Sears manager....but alot of concerned store associates out there wondering if their store is closing and then this list gets posted which makes it appear that it is a done deal rather than the list of stores under review.

For an earlier comment, if a store wasn’t decided to stay open or close yet, of course they wouldn’t be part of a clearance transfer. Not being on the “go forward” list doesn’t equate with being on the “closing” list, it just means that the store’s fate is undetermined, and until it’s decided it’s probably not worth investing in too much inventory or movement of it.

I was wondering why google searches showed no other hits regarding any sort of a new confirmed list.....as when the 146 store closing list was announced recently on here, the list was soon posted within a few hours by various news organizations and was readily available under Google searches.....

There is also the list of stores that are on the retrification list. Those might last through the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants.

Looks like the list is 90% Sears FLS and 10% Kmarts.

All these stores are on the designated list and by 11/15 the company will decide to keep them or close them.

Today all the remaining stores got a email to what closing stores they need to ship their clearance to. There was 211 stores that did not get this email. Why would a store that would be closing in the next couple of weeks send out clearance when they will be liquidating. So you don't have to be a genius to figure out that these 211 store will be the next round. And this will take the number of stores down to around the low 400s which is exactly the plan.

Let me get out the crayons and explain what should be fairly obvious to anyone who has been following this and knows how Sears operates:

There is no "safe store" list. All the stores on this list are closing soon. Sears can only close so many stores at once, it's a question of resources. That's why they are doing this in waves. Are you with me so far?

Now, ask yourself, what do you think would happen if they publicly announced that all the stores were closing, even though they can only afford to close them in batches?

If you can't answer this question for yourself, just stay at Sears. You deserve being manipulated, which is exactly what they are doing.

No Sears stores in Iowa left. Final store in Omaha, Nebraska closing. Guess they gave up on those states.

@hci There are “Designated” stores in the bankruptcy filling you id--t. These stores are stores that are under review and if more closings are needed, they are to be hit first. Maybe a handful or maybe a few, we will soon find out.

There's a list of designated stores that aligns with the OP. These are stores pending further review. It was something like 333 "safe" stores, 142 closing stores, and 211 designated stores. Some of these could close, some could remain open, even some of the safe stores could close. Cheerleader will spin unrealistically positive like they always do, others will simply make the "they're all going to close in ch 7!" argument like they always do; until there's something on the docket confirming the fate of the 333 or 211, it's all speculation right now.

There is restricted and unrestricted. What the hell is designated? More fake news on this site.

Sears is out of cash, and nobody will kick in any more cash except Eddie, and Eddie won't kick in any more without his terms being met, and the other parties won't agree to his terms.

My local Sears closed on June. Now I see my local K'Mart in this list. That's pretty sobering given those stores have been around for decades, and the areas they are in, are not depressed.

Especially sad because I would use that K'Mart for last minute Christmas decorations, which you could get at outrageous discounts. Now I actually have to plan ahead.
