Has anyone thought what happens to the clients implementing a telecom solution and the resources to implement, bill, install, etc. when these are no longer there? What of clients who lose their account teams and have no one to call Jan. 1? I am sure the new guy will be able to jump right in and take over a complex multitiered solution. Right!! Just the politics alone in business accounts require care and management.
I would think that the company should have offered a separation but made sure that resources are in place and/or available to support the clients, particularly those spending millions to hundreds of millions per year. A gradual transition including client introductions to new teams, identified processes to replace existing, etc. should all be developed and implemented. However how will this be done in a matter of days during the holidays, particularly with people who have 4 plus weeks of vacation and personal days.
Basically I see it as just abdicating the business to the competitors. And let's not forget the adage that once you make a client angry it takes 3 times as long and 10 times the cost to reacquire that client.
