Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Twas the night after Christmas

Why is this a reply? Reposting from @WMXIyUA-3nsi to make sure more people read this. It's perfect! Props to OP!

Twas the night after Christmas and in every store, the focus has shifted from Santa to the Hunger Games once more. Come January just a few days away, the closings and neighborhood store announcements are coming our way. If you were naughty and made zero profit, if your lease is expiring, or on your building there's money to be made, then brace your self brother, your job may be going away.

If your district has less than twenty locations and neighbors another, pray that your results are better than others. Integrated workforce, neighborhood doors, consolidation, realignment, streamlining, combining, are just some of the terms you will hear, what they all mean is abundantly clear.

Without a huge unexpected tax break to soften the blow, Jeffery and Hal have to cut expenses or go. The investors aren't happy with a stock price down 24% in just half a year, so hope that you're in a G-Door with nothing to fear.

If you think this year was hard, then strap yourself in, because changes are coming and survivors will wonder who drew the high card, those who got laid off or those who stayed on.

Not very logical to blame whichever party in office for the trend of people turning to technology to shop online.

Shopping from a yacht? Yep that sounds like the average consumer. People will always shop in stores regardless of Amazon etc. Besides that, maybe the whole economy will tank now due to Trump and the great Wall.

Yeah people are donkeys......no wonder they work in retail. Hello ....people shop online, while laying on a beach, on their yacht, watching tv. That was not possible 20 plus yrs ago, but now yes so goodbye stores.....duhhhhh

Face the music people. The country has changed the way it shops. Brick and mortar is not first choice of the coming generation who would rather shop from their chairs in front of their computers or from their cell phones at their kids soccer games. Why do you need so many stores open when the customers who physically come to shop become fewer and fewer. Who do do blame for that? Trump? Give me a fricking break!

I agree with previous post on S&P 500. All retail stocks are in the toilet. Dillard's, Nordstrom, etc. Trump started his crazy show and stocks dropped. Not The fault of Macy's leadership, fault of our Countries leadership!

All stocks are lower in the S&P 500. Has nothing to do with Jeff or Hal. Trump's fault.
