Kick it the stomach indeed. I’m sure there is a similar story in every affected location, but this story about the layoffs and possible shutdown at Lordstown really painted a good picture of how the company couldn’t care less about its workers, much less about the communities that emerged around its plants. Lordstown is a town that’s heavily depending on it’s GM plant for more than 50 years. What’s going to happen if the plant closes, what can 1600 families look forward to, other than relocation in the pursuit for new work?
