Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

You need a car guy to run GM

You need a car guy to run GM. Not a daddy's girl, not a furniture man, not a token or diversity bonehead.

You need a car guy with car smarts.

Most large dinosaur companies are failing now because they don't have the right leadership in there.

So bid farewell to another company started by our fathers and grandfathers.

You don't reward failure, you remind them of their screw ups and force their hands with your wallet. People should know that Mary already stated she's doing what she's doing for the shareholders. If that doesn't scream in the pocket, and motive, nothing else will. It's point blank, frank to your face.

People don't want sedans, the cheaper alternative to trucks and SUVS, yet Mary is going to double down on electric vehicles, which no one will want. Bring out 20+ of these over the next few years, and watch them cannibalize themselves to a handful of buyers. It'll make todays' layoffs look like they're just getting started. Autonomous is a joke. Dry conditions are difficult enough, let along ice and snow. All that's left as plausible is the taxi service through Maven and Lyft.

Everyone is entitled to their own path. Given my experiences with GM, and the countless layoffs I've seen, I feel I have a great understand how I should play my hand. The night and day differences in how Rick Wagner handled his situation out of desperation, and Mary is handling hers through greed, I've reaffirmed my position, one that I took many years ago. I will never support this company any more than a mercenary for hire exchange, because they are NOT professional grade. I've seen it too many times, here employees royally get the shaft. I purchased two competitor vehicles new, to showcase my belief in this.

You work 5, 10, 15, years, then suddenly on a Saturday, a phone call that says don't come to work Monday? Get the **** out of here. Rick Wagnor had more integrity given what he was facing.

Solution = Americans need to buy American cars. Period. The government should offer tax incentives for those Americans that purchase American cars. The only place I see Americans driving American cars is the rust belt, and that's because someone in the family works for an OEM.

Therefore, MB should be fired for not growing GM. Product lines are continuously shrinking due to uncompetitiveness.

It's all about the bottom line no one cares about the working man, the back bone of our economy! The problem is simple they "large corporations" are only concerned with a profit margin. They don't think about how this will affect families and whole communities, or they do and just don't care. It's all about share holders turning large profits and fat cats getting big bonuses! So they're going to lay a bunch of people off, to strengthen a company that's not even struggling. So what do we do? Not buy their products anymore? Not sure if that's the answer either then we put even more jobs at risk, someone needs to put these guys in check! We bail them out so people don't loose their jobs and they do it anyway! These companies have too much power and no one has the balls to stand up too them! The U.A.W. is weak and so is our president and all of his false promises!!!
