Thread regarding CVS layoffs

A typical day at our stores

I wonder if these people who create our budgets have ever worked a day in the store before. They have never had to juggle helping an old non English speaking Russian grandma try to send money for the first time while trying to take a bunch of passport photos for 2 year olds who don’t stay still and pharmacy calling you for back up with 1 high school aged cashier is ringing out an extreme couponer next to you with a line of p-ss-d off people looking at you. If you work at CVS, you know this is a typical day in our stores. CVS s---s because our corporate leaders have no idea what it’s like to actually work in the environment they create.

CVS use to be one of the best companies to work for, until everyone starting developing these dumb a-- clicks. I love the way these leaders lead you right into the damn ground, because they have no knowledge of the company business..

Stop promoting pharmacist to DL positions. They have no clue how to run a store. Our DL is dumb as a box of rocks!

To post with real volume,

I'm getting back to u, Ive managed

70k and over 5k scripts weekly,

U can ( lmao ) all u want -- but that 70k was seriously much easier to run that mid 20s with less than minimum hours ...I actually managed --- and our customer score was 87-89...

I'd put 1k , bet u couldn't or better yet wouldn't do it for long..

I have experienced recently that the “grass is not always greener on the other side”.. EVERY company had very tight labor budgets .. unfortunate.. but reality.. I would advise anyone who hates there job that much, and can’t stand it, quit complaining and try something else.. might be very similar

regarding an 82 not being a good score...

Lmao. You do mid 20’s??? I do 150k plus and over 4K scripts a week in the northeast. I literally do on Sunday what you do in a week. An 82 here is above target an considered an amazing score. In fact it’s 3 points away from an excellence store so where the hell do you get your info?

In fact, according to the new mCC benchmark score the company is achieving a 75.

Get back to me when you experience some real volume buddy

I like that post about just smile and apologize . To the post about cutting off photo- the photo people call me if my photo machine is off and want to know why and they try to trouble shoot to get them running. When in the past I blow them off - they must email DL cause he will then call asking what's up with photo machine

Lmfao! When DL asks why are you a month behind on planos and your cfr is not done regularly....just smile and apologize lol

The simple and basic problem here is Corporate views payroll as an expense. When they should be viewing it as an investment. Invest in your people and watch things flourish! So until corporate views payroll as an investment and not an expense nothing is going to change. Case in point... a DL once said that lack of available store personnel is not an issue we are going to address. So if customers complain about not enough cashiers, just smile and apologize.

Or just unplug the photo kiosk and hang an out of order sign on it.

To - 82 mcc

That's really not a good score

As for insane workload,

Omg - we only do mid 20s fs

But by my self 4 hours a day

Too busy to get it all done .

These cosmetics this year are insane , 3 new brands 70 hours

Will get half the wall done I hope

Got a job offer at another company and start Monday.

My hours were cut to nothing this year and workload same if not more. Supposed to start cosmetics on Monday which is hell because it's just me and a shift that are doing it. We both are not good at them. I work tomorrow and then not on again until Monday.

My plan is to show up Sunday give the shift my keys and send an email to my dl telling him I'm done. No notice.

This company doesn't deserve a 2 weeks notice. Btw my dl is absolutely terrible

Train your customers. Photo is self serve. We are not supposed to sit there with them. We tell them we will show you how to do one edit or they can use the app and send to store from home. That’s it. FS mCE and not mCC an 82 so it’s not hurting us.

CVS = unrealistic expectations for its people every day! You can't run a store on nothing. Corporate doesn't understand that.

To the manager who said most people have worked themselves up the ladder, I respectfully disagree with that. Because IF they had formerly been at/in store level, they would not forget what that's like and be more understanding of things. Our last DL came from outside the company so he never worked a day in the store.

Cvs puts managers in impossible situations everyday. No matter the day you have to skip a must do. So they know if they want to they can fire you at any point

Amen brothers! I spent two hours the other day running back and forth helping this lady scan pictures and edit them, while ringing register, checking in a vendor, etc. and all she buys is ten 35 cent prints.

Sounds like someone is balls deep in your punch bowl. Do yourself a favor and buy some knee pads so you can go for round 2.

Others like me have worked our ways to what was deemed "the worst store" for perceived and incorrect rumors and now find ourselves in the easiest and best stores in our district. Stop complaining you reap what you sew.
