How many employees retire happy from UP?

Even if this was true, all the new blood that have been working the horrible shifts will continue working the horrible shifts until they have 15-20 years in. And then when UP decides to act on some new initiative years from now they will have to bump into a new craft working horrible shifts. Ahhhh the life of a railroad employee. Missing practically everything in your personal life all to have this retirement that everyone has put on a pedestal. How many employees retire happy from UP? I'd really like to know. A lot of people have so many health problems from being over worked they don't even make it to retirement because UP has abused them so badly.

This is a post that i found as a reply on another thread by @XYOS0lz-zwk , so sorry if it looks like it was taken out of context. I felt this was a truthful post, that makes a lot of sense, so I reposted it as a thread

Your grandparents don't count unless they retired within the last 15 years. This is not the same railroad that they started at and were given the opportunity to retire at. UP doesn't want people retiring on their dime anymore. They want to use you up and spit you out.

I know a few retirees they love it. Take care of yourself use the free gym membership the rr offers. The few I know didn’t have 401k for as long as some of us and they still get by well.

Nobody in senior management is happy unless they have some sort of bs job while they’re waiting to retire. If they’re actively involved in the company they are stressed out.

I know of some senior management that are happy and are basically making bank for the rest of their lives. Others? Probably not many.

I don’t know how many people will retire from UP any more. Maybe it’s just another company, now that they’re not only getting rid of the golden hand cuffs but are actually tossing good people out on their asses.
