I'm not a VP of anything and I haven't gotten a raise for over 7 years. Nothing no bonus, no raise but I did get 2 "promotions" with no salary increase. I'm at the mid-point of the fake salary ranges and the explanation is that I'm being compensated within range. I agree it's difficult to leave but unless you're willing to accept never getting any more comp than you get today - you take the difficult steps to improve your situation. Move, sell your house, relocate, commute longer - if money is your primary goal then you do whatever you need to. If you chose to stay, then do it with the knowledge that it's your choice to accept whatever wages Oracle want to give you. They have no legal obligation to pay you a market wage. I'd argue they have an obligation as a company to provide better wages but they don't care if you leave and have no interest in keeping you. They want young people who will work for anything and have no interest in your expertise. Once you accept that as true, maybe it's the incentive to move yourself to another company that has a soul - Oracle does not care about employees or customers.
This is the sad reality of working at Oracle, unfortunately, I think that there is little that we can do about this. The person that posted this originally is @XpK2aP6-3bbt .
