Field Services Outsourced

Internal announcement today that all of Field Services has been outsourced to NCR. Around 350 are losing their jobs. Not sure if NCR can do the job Field Services did, I always had a great relationship with that team.

Heard from a tech that stayed on, that things are really unprofessional. No one cares. I guess that’s the engagement criteria. Hey how are those engagement scores? Don’t worry, they won’t be used against you. They are for your development.
By the way, that’s a quote from MST Leadership. Go ahead, a dare anyone to deny it.

I AM SO GLAD I AM NOT ALONE IN HOW I FEEL. I was a Field Services tech for Macy's for almost 8 years before NCR took over and made the Mistake of rolling over with NCR. I witnessed a pathetic transaction. The NCR techs new very little of what was required of them in their Macy's SAMM manual. For example my NCR Team Lead who had been with NCR for 12 years before NCR took on the Macy's account did not even know what the Power Injector was for an Access Point not what the PBX was for. They passed up hire my two Macy's Tech co-workers only to hire people who with know technical.experince to go in those stores and try to do that job. It made me sick do I resigned my position with NCR and I am a happier person for it.

Its been 7 months since the announcement not sure anyone will even see this but... Joe B RIP wish I or someone could have done more in your life to minimize the stress you were feeling. This is what happens with poor leadership that puts sh– culture and greed before people. GREAT JOB MD your clock is ticking!!!

Here we are a couple months after we first heard the news. Those of us who stayed on with NCR can now clearly see that the transition has been poorly planned. System integration is weak, our new management doesn’t understand the business or the division of labor/tasks. Their ES mobility system for handling tasks is disgraceful and makes the job much more difficult than need be. When you look for support from management, the rarely provide any meaningful guidance. I’m fairly certain that the holiday season will start to shed light on how incredibly stupid outsourcing IT services was. I’ll enjoy watching NCR crash and burn.

Being one of the folks heading out the door, I will miss most of my colleagues. Business is business and I understand that. What I don't agree with is the methods used by MST and the absolute abortion of a hiring process that NCR is using. Then to top it off having Mike ask all of us to donate to the Bag Hunger drive just to make his numbers look good. What a tool! He's having another call today and I bet he brings up donations again...totally clueless. I wish the best of luck to all of you that will be going forward with NCR. As for me I see a fork in the road and am going in the opposite direction as fast as I can.

I said it once and I will say it again. Many of these posts with the negative remarks and insults are very immature, uncalled for and defiantly unprofessional. It only makes the people who have worked for Field Services look bad. This was a business decision that I have always expected to happen for a long time. Grow up and keep your negative comments to yourself.

Righteousness is a big word in the Bible. It is used hundreds of times. It says that one day God is going to judge the world in Righteousness.

Life is not about the acquisition of things or the achievement of goals. Life is about getting to know God.

So while we are all mourning the loss of our job, remember this.........God will provide for us.

Well, if finally happened.... the guillotine finally dropped. It's actually a relief after 5+ years of wondering "when" and not "if". For those of you that still care about Macy's future, not to fret. They will continue to bring in multi-million high level executives that are supposed to be the company saviors. The Macy's Technology executives that come up with the plan to 'outsource' MT Field Services will keep their jobs and probably get a bonus from the perceived savings. For those of us that this has impacted, it would behoove us to use this opportunity to find a company to work for that views their employees as an asset and not a disposable commodity. We, and our families, definitely deserve better. Best of luck to all of you in the future. We should feel good about what we know we accomplished with our careers here even though our 'leadership' never did.

FSP'S , look up pay scales for NCR and read employee reviews before applying. Does not look like a promising environment.

Agree with post below on MST Management. Very poor Management.

Having only been with MST for a couple of years, looking forward to moving on to a more progressive company with better leadership. The expectations for MST Tech's combined with the terrible antiquated equipment, systems based on software cobbled together and written by the lowest bidder, and store employees who walk around with the dead look in their eyes as the company asks more and more from smaller and smaller teams will make this change a relief. There would be no need to move to NCR if someone on the MST leadership team could ever have influence the other leaders on the stores side to reduce mind blowing number of wasted man hours on ridiculous register and wrap stand moves around the store. Many times moving them back to the same or similar places in just a few months. Way too many chiefs, most who seem to make decisions without regard for cost or consideration of any financial impact. I feel bad for the store level folks getting NCR, can't wait to see if the crazy ego maniacs who run the districts and regions will continue to move registers around when they have to actually pay another company to do so.

NCR will pay about half of what FSP'S are currently making. Therefore, establishing a reduced payroll. They will probably run with this for 2 years and back in house. But paying far less in wages.

Look what happen when they out sourced facilities maintenance to SRI about 20 years ago. Only lasted a few years before it went back in house. Im going to miss my many friends in MST ...wish you all well.

I understand that this was a business decision and some took it personal which is understandable for the years of hard work, loyalty and dedication. But to repetitively have town hall meetings saying “Keep up the good work team! We couldn’t do it without you! We want to continue to perform at a high level providing platinum service so we don’t get outsourced.” The new fiscal year comes and now our jobs get outsourced and to call NCR service to be faster, effective, resourceful and provide a better customer experience... GOOD LUCK with that! I’ve seen, heard and read negative reviews on their amount of turnover alone within their own company. I guess MTech will find itself outsourced for poor management and lack of vision. We’re better off on our own finding other jobs since your NCR contract already sounds unstable.
