Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Verizon 2.0 will create disgruntled burnout and our consumers will feel it

I am a GM in the South East district and have noticed how the moral has dropped significantly In all stores. I'm not saying this to complain but as a warning to upper management who do not step into the stores. If they do Every employee is prepped and is on the best behavior the upper management has a false sense of the moral in the stores. This began last July with the comp change. Upper management views this the concerns of this as complaing not a legitimate concern. I had 4 reps that worked for me all were perennial winner circle winners. They had about 25 years or so experience between them. 2 of them made over six figures in retail. NONE of them are with company anymore. Our stores numbers have plummeted as a result. The rest of the employees miss their leadership. And feel like chumps staying and making a mesley $1100 check (before taxes)The reps are wise to the fact the comp plan is broken between the balance of PT and voice lines. Reps must choose to pick between their morals and their paychecks. Our DM pressures and pressures us to sell Hum. Reps have given up on trying to 'earn the right' on bundle it with Unlimited go. I try my best to inspire the team around hum. But the fact that they have such a high return rate bundled with an escalation, employees are TIRED of selling this thing. 2.0 has created bad hours, bad paycheck, and customers that are dwindling. Both my SMs feel they have been taken advantage of with their Exempt status, no overtime with little paychecks. With constant meetings, calls, inventory counts, district

outings that my DM makes mandatory or your on his bad list. I had to tell one he couldn't go to his nephews baptism bc my DM said it was a requirement for this 2.0 meeting. (It was a technical disaster) Both SMs are applying out. This is all a result of 2.0. I can no longer even make the schedule for my team they are forced to work inconsistent hours. One of my reps put in his 2 weeks after working 3:30 to close on the last 2 days of the month. I was able to talk them down and risk corrective action by changing it. Our DM is very strict on Manual overrides. Thanks for screwing over the hard working people who built this company, who have probably been with the company longer then the people making these decisions. Then will say UMatter . Very Orwellen

Lol so glad I decided to leave. After 15 years of working my butt off only to have to listen to dumb--s Jorge Zapata and his pathetic a--, racist DM Brandon Poe, I was glad to leave. Took a gigantic paycut but happier than ever. Still talk to friends who are going through this 2.0 and they are so miserable. Read a post about how this should have been done so long ago. Really, we know you are a fanboy, get out of here with that BS. I pray for those in SE FL that you get new leadership.

I dunno, but I think that there is far more civility now at Verizon with Hans running the show. There seems to be less drama. Still drama, but less of it. They should have done this 2.0 a long time ago. Are there still some fat-heads, incompetents and EEO promos in all the wrong places? You bet, just a lot less of them, and a new CEO who is the best leader Verizon has had.

OMG !! I remember My Verizon Express!

I agree that was the beginning of the end.

Company knows way out what the plans are. I stuck around long enough to get my Severence. I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself if I missed out on that. I was banking my Vacation time, got my degree, cashed out my Rewards certificates. You can’t blame the company for wanting to make $$$ yes that gravy train left a long time ago. Now you have managers trying to save there jobs by throwing others under the bus. There is no need for retail, layoffs are the warning signs. I say if you can wait it out. For a severence. But get your financial house in order do you can take a nice well deserved vacation and reset. After awhile you will look back and realize how much you drank the cool aid and missed out on a happy life. Do you guys still take selfies every morning and do shoutouts? UMATTER is a subliminal message.... it’s about you so get what you can, prepare, have a plan for your next move. Don’t settle and be miserable.

Every GEA in the BGCO that didn't get the buyout is looking to get out. It's terrible. Now we have egomaniacs left as "management" that lies and treats people like sh-- so they can hop the corporate ladder.

Whatever ladder that's left after everyone leaves.

Your high performing reps saw the writing on the wall and left. The most talented employees are alwats the first to bail when a company starts its downward spiral.

Leadership wants stores to die as they have been training customers for years to utilize self service and online ordering as much as possible while simultaneously turning stores into very unpleasant slam fest snake pits. Customers compare going to a Verizon store with going to the dentist to get a root canal.

Its over man. The gravy train has pulled into the station. Time to adapt to a new career or go down with the sinking retail ship.

It’s true, Verizon does not care about its employees and wants to cut as many as them as possible. But I’m sorry to say, the writing has been on the wall since 2011 when I started with the company in retail (anyone remember tracking My Verizon Express transactions?).

I got out a year ago and I’m so happy I did. Jump ship and try to swim, or sink with it and drown. Your choice.
