Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Where are the employees in most danger?

This is more of a hypothetical question, but I don’t believe the leadership is satisfied with the headcount VZ has right now and I believe they have their opinion on what part of the company can afford to trim the most fat. So, in what part of the company do they think they can make the most redundancies?

I think only the employees that are breathing are at risk. The rest will be fine.

@eeu: “Leadership would love to shake off the union once and for all. I feel it is one of Hatchet Hans objectives.”

If that were the case the Company would have had its chance this year. Instead, they agreed to push the contract out to 2023.

It seems commonly believed that the Company wants to get rid of the Unions but they certainly don’t act like it.

Union members are in the safest positions in the Company, they’re pretty much the only ones guaranteed to be around for at least 4 more years.

In-house, in USA, call centers are more efficient and produce better results than contractors. That is a fact.

Get rid of the VLSS black belt team. I have pets that are smarter than those people.

Thats easy. Wireline amd stores are the two most at risk as neither is profitable. Leadership would love to shake off the union once and for all. I feel it is one of Hatchet Hans objectives.

Who should be:. Underperforming business units, extra layers of leadership - VPs and directors

Who likely will be: Call center and stores (outsourcing and vendor).
