Layoffs, re-calibration happens in any LARGE org. OCI-C got big paychecks and RSUs.
Some of these guys hired onto OCI total compensation would have made you tear up with envy.
The direction has changed. The gamble on big paydirt was lost.
Some, I read here, had 20y under their belt at Oracle. Seriously? You did not see this coming? And you should be celebrating you got 20 years at one company. It's unheard of nowadays.
Oracle is a business. And it's not their business to look out for YOUR welfare/career. Their obligation is fulfilled once they pay you for your hours. It's that simple.
This is not a 'massive' layoff by any measure. Oracle has 130k employees worldwide. Do the math.
The ones here who are concerned about pending/future layoffs should probably be the first ones to have started their job hunting. Else whining and complaining on an anon forum is just psychological salve for your inaction and ineptness.
