Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Is home office just being ignorant?

Why does home office think that all is well and dandy at clubs, or are they just being ignorant? CIM is horrible, 80% of the time merchandise is not in location. Who are you kidding? Audits are horrible, not to mention final club inventories, then dollar difference isn't done and the cycle just continues. The new backroom associates can't handle the work load. Really, do you honestly believe that they have learned the three areas, claims, office, and receiving? Not to mention all of the system issues with purchase order numbers that not even home office know how to fix. Which then affects our on hand issues not being correct thus affecting your replenishment of merchandise. All we can do is do our best and hope that everyone does the same.

Bottom line is the ones making these decisions aren't on the front lines dealing with the everyday issues. What they see on paper good or bad simply doesn't tell the story of how associates/managers etc are struggling to do the best they can for the company. If any of the shot callers actually spent a week or a month in any store level position things would be very different. But that certainly isn't going to happen.

They won’t bring up audit. They will get rid of doing the ones leads are doing and then wonder why shrink keeps going up unchecked.

@hrr the days of bringing positions back is over. Pay attention to what's going on around you.

Get real people, in most clubs the increase in shrink is offset by the decrease in payroll that was spent on long term Audit associates. I'm not saying it was a smart move, I was one of those charter Audit associates. Wait a few more years and they'll bring back an Audit team at a much lower wage.

you all sound pretty lazy, we do ours and all of our other duties as well...shrink was down from last year. They could pay you 10 more on the hour and you'd still cry about it.

Open your eyes people. There has to be a bigger reason for this. No company would gut their stores this way if there wasn't something big about to happen. I'm starting to believe this place will be sold off. Time will tell. But know that Sam's is not on a good path. This place is doomed! Get out before you're forced out. The place isn't worth it.

That executive that was a prosecutor couldn’t be too smart to go to Walmart 🤭

Ask any club manager or team lead about audit and they will say hell yes it was a mistake. I think they will eventually bring in a team and call it something else. Most clubs in my market already have previous audit team members that stayed assisting with audits every month, that's the only way they get done. Gotta love it!!!

Their plan all looks good on paper until the ones that actually have to do the work run into all of the "hiccups". We have had several slot tags (CIM labels) from the D.C. (sometimes a whole truck) not scan. Therefore having to remake all new tags. And then when binning, you keep your fingers crossed that your held is actually going to work. This is why some of ours isn't binned. A person gets fed up fighting with it to get it to work. When teamleads do the audits and have to walk isle for isle searching for items not binned, that is time wasted. One finds a whole pallet that wasn't on hand or even don't have a whole pallet of something. Soooo by not physically checking in a truck like before and just downloading it into the system you get what you get and have to jump through hoops to get things straightened out. Our shrink seems to be through the roof to me but to our CM and other higher ups...………...they're ok with it. Pitiful

Got to love looking an item up and having 10 locations to look through, the item might be in one or two of them.

the executive who is in charge of asset protection is brilliant. she used to be a prosecutor in fayetteville, arkansas. so she must be really smart. stop criticizing her.

Agreed. Think it's because they will never admit that getting rid of the audit team was a terrible idea. Sure, they saved the labor dollars on those associates.. now, the same labor is still spent by team leads doing audits. And, less member service because of all the required audits they keep adding back in. Team leads and others too busy trying to figure out the terrible audits and cim, to be available to do their own duties and take care of members.

Stupid home office choice and the results (shrink) prove it..they just won't admit it.
