I’ve never seen a manager fired. With that said, I’ve never seen a pt time merchandiser fires either. We would much rather keep a lazy merchandiser than to do additional paperwork, meet up with them to get their materials back, and move people around on the schedule to give “help” where needed.
So a quarter close is when you see “truck loads” come back? You must be talking about pallet or two here and there from a truck. From a store that probably refused an order because of excessive back stock. Because of a quarter close. If you say it’s from a warehouse standpoint, then think about how big of a geography that warehouse covers, how many customers are within that geography, those refusals here and there from the hundreds of customers that warehouse supplies could possibly add up to a “truck load”.
