Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Where are the details?

Hmm..if there was supposed to be a February closure how was there not more being moved out or people losing their jobs? A Credit dept JUST moved some of their workload off shore. I’m not in credit however and literally nothing has touched my workload. I’ve gotten MORE work and haven’t trained anyone. I would have to train a replacement. I’m not saying no one has lost a job or that no one will. Just some of this sh-- doesn’t sound all that on point. People keep saying jobs are being lost but can’t give a dept...how many...not a lot of details?? When I’ve been there around the JDs we knew numbers.

@WxGbudy-2yrwu makes a good point.

This is true it's scattered randomly all over the company. Hard to know exactly how many but way more than 30.

The details are lacking because one day you work for CITI and the next day they walk you out of the building. Unless you have personal contact with other employees to compare numbers you have no way of knowing the total number fired. CITI could be firing 200 a week or only 30.

Some people aren’t still stuck on the phones. So yeah they have work that is sent just to their teams. They would need replacements. Not just work you can jump into and know what the hell is happening.

No one is training replacements. The jobs are just moving offshore. You get a call, your access is taken immediately, and buh bye. Don't think you're so important they can't survive without you. On my termination calls, there were many others who were in shock. There one minute, gone the next. The job layoffs right now are scattered. It's not whole departments, until the dust settles on the first rounds.
